Firearm Confiscation by Law Enforcement in a Nutshell

In my business life, we laser etch firearms. This gives me extensive contact with law enforcement officers in North Carolina. I use this opportunity to discuss issues and opinions on the 2nd Amendment. The following conclusion will be controversial to some readers but I would rather have a Democrat sheriff in my county than a Republican sheriff. The above video is only one example that formed this opinion.

When a sitting Republican sheriff has to bring his attorney with him to represent 2nd Amendment viewpoints, we have a problem.

Is that self-identified “Republican” a reason for wanting the “D” guy, instead? Or, perhaps a living cautionary tale regarding those tyrants’ labels? I got one of those “D” guys myself, and wouldn’t recommend it. Anything short of a public service announcement saying, “Hey, I’m the Sheriff, and belong to the CSPOA, and I’ll defend this community against Washington DC, and Raleigh, if necessary. And I won’t take their funds to co-opt my deputies. End of story…” and, I’ll maintain a healthy skepticism.
