DOJ overrules FBI on gun sales debate, says no-fly list can be used for ban

Attorney General Loretta Lynch overruled FBI Director James B. Comey on Thursday, saying the Obama administration does support a ban on firearms sales to those on terrorist watch lists.

Mr. Comey last year had told Congress that the ban could end up alerting suspected terrorists that they are being investigated, and that could “blow” the cases his agents are trying to build.

But his superiors at the Justice Department rejected that, issuing a statement Thursday saying they want to see Congress approve the “no-fly, no-buy” plan Democrats are pursuing.

“The amendment gives the Justice Department an important additional tool to prevent the sale of guns to suspected terrorists by licensed firearms dealers while ensuring protection of the department’s operational and investigative sensitivities,” department spokesman Dena Iverson said in a statement.

The statement didn’t explain why officials disagreed with Mr. Comey’s evaluation.

If the government can revoke your right to access firearms simply because it has decided to place you on a secret, notoriously inaccurate list, it could presumably restrict your other rights in a similar manner. You could be forbidden from advocating for causes you believe in, or associating with like-minded activists; your right against intrusive, unreasonable searches could be suspended. And you would have no recourse: The government could simply declare that, as a name on a covert list, you are owed no due process at all.

President Obama and Hillary Clinton are wrong to think that arbitrary lists are a valid and legal means of stripping Americans of their gun rights.

It would be nice if the Republican Party had chosen as its standard-bearer someone who could articulate the conservative case for the Second Amendment and due process. Instead, it chose Trump. Now gun rights will be in jeopardy, no matter which of the two charlatans currently seeking the presidency prevails.

Let me be perfectly clear, we know you want the guns. We know you r skeered to begin collecting them because then the mask will be fully off & well you politicians are pretty bad at real violence and fighting preferring to let others do that for you. However, when the ball drops, there will be no safe spaces. You idiots will have started a fight that you will lose. There are millions of us, many have buried weapons caches for the future (rainy days etc), many have phone trees to other committed folk and if the call in doesn’t happen balls start to roll (pun intended). Your surveillance tools are beyond anything we could imagine but they still won’t be enough. You can’t kill an idea and we believe we were born free as God’s children.

We will not worship your satanic masters as you do. Some of you should simply begin leaving while you have time. I lived a good life, in many respects I should have been dead long ago and I’m willing to lay down my life for my fellow man. Don’t mistake a belief in the 3 catechism for weakness, it’s not. You will rue the day you started down this road.

I, too, have lived a long and fruitful life and should be dead right now. But I’m not. Nor do I plan to die without a cause (unless G-d calls me home) or a minute legacy. And if it be war that dictates my avenue, so be it.

I never had the honor of serving this county, militarily, but I am a civil servant. I also took the oath and I DO plan to uphold it should the winds of war waft in my direction.

These idiots, who desire to subjugate the citizenry of this free nation, have no idea of what they’ll face should they try to relieve us of our G-d-given rights. I assure you, it won’t be pretty!
