Claire McCaskill Smells Defeat

I am asking for your help to win my re-election campaign and continue fighting for our values in the Senate.

Trump and his Republican Party are determined to beat me. They know I’m one of the most vulnerable senators up for re-election — and recent polls show me in a dead heat with my extreme right-wing opponent, Josh Hawley.

We’re in one hell of a fight and we simply cannot afford to come up short. With only 17 days left in this race, I am asking you directly:

Josh Hawley has some real tricks up his sleeve, and he’s shown that he’s willing to do whatever it takes to beat me. He has the full and unfettered support of Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, and dark money donors who have already spent tens of millions of dollars in special interest money to flip this seat red.

This November’s midterm elections are the most consequential of our lifetime. I get knots in my stomach just thinking about what will happen if we don’t defend this seat and elect more Democrats to the Senate. You can bet Republicans will keep trying to gut health care protections, pass another tax scam, and restrict a woman’s right to make her own reproductive health care decisions.

There is way too much at stake to give Trump another rubber stamp like Josh Hawley to carry out his deeply extremist and right-wing agenda. I’m counting on you to win re-election — it simply won’t happen without your help.
