Compare and Contrast: The Word of God vs. Obama’s Interpretation

The Bible is clear on the subject of homosexuality. And I really don’t care if you shoot the messenger. Have our “leaders” now become the arbiters of God’s Word? What were our founding fathers’ position on this topic? Our foundation for federal vs. state law was clear in their minds: the federal government has extremely limited oversight over individual state laws. They considered the federal jurisdiction to be limited to the following four crimes:

1. Cowardice
2. Treason
3. Desertion
4. Homosexuality

The punishment was the same for all of the above: death.

“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

I suppose that our culture has “evolved” according to half of the people. We could blame the church for turning tail on preaching the Word of God. We could blame whomever or whatever we want. But the one fact remains inviolate: no man can rewrite the Word of God.

Let’s review the definition of blasphemy:

1. a. A contemptuous or profane act, utterance, or writing concerning God or a sacred entity.
     b. The act of claiming for oneself the attributes and rights of God.
2. An irreverent or impious act, attitude, or utterance in regard to something considered inviolable or sacrosanct.
Whose side will the Lord choose in the future?
And the actual word in the Declaration of Independence is “unalienable”. If you are like the president and do not understand the difference, click here. I for one, will not surrender my rights under God.

Romans 1:18-32
God’s Wrath Against Sinful Humanity

18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Obama’s Inaugural: If God ‘Truly’ Created Us Equal, Homosexual ‘Love’ is Equal as Well

Barack Obama, inaugurationPresident Barack Obama opened his second inaugural address by quoting the statement from the preamble to the Declaration of Independence that all men “are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights.”

He then went on to say that if men were in fact created equal, then homosexual “love” must be equal as well.

“What makes us exceptional, what makes us American,” said Obama, “is our allegiance to an idea articulated in a declaration made more than two centuries ago: ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.’”

“Today we continue a never-ending journey to bridge the meaning of those words with the realities of our time,” said Obama. “For history tells us that while these truths may be self-evident, they’ve never been self-executing; that while freedom is a gift from God, it must be secured by His people here on Earth.”

A bit later in his speech, Obama returned to the theme of God creating all men equal, and this time tied it directly to his belief that the “law” should extend equal treatment to “the love” of homosexuals.

    I didn’t watch any of the events today and after reading this post, I’m sure thankful that I didn’t hear Obama say those terrible things. America will realize the wrath of God and they better get ready. God bless America and God bless all of us Christian’s that believe in and follow God’s word. Thank you for this post, David.

    God said to pray for those who have authority over you. I am African American and also embarrassed how this President as totally gone against God’s word, in addition to how many folks of all colors are following his agenda! The economy verses God’s word, no comparison. African American people (many that I know are very racist) that is why they are riding on Obamas coat tail. If God didn’t want slavery to happen, it wouldn’t have. So don’t get mad at White America – get mad at God.

      I do not get mad at the Lord; I can only ask to follow His plans. We are not meant to understand His plans or His way. I do agree that we are in trouble and must stand together if we are to regain our Liberty.
