Governer Bev and the News & Observer have done it again. The governor proposed the suspension of Congressional elections for two years to give the economy time to recover. The News & Observer is reporting this statement as a joke:
Speaking to a Cary rotary club today, N.C. Gov. Bev Perdue suggested suspending Congressional elections for two years so that Congress can focus on economic recovery and not the next election.
“I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won’t hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover. I really hope that someone can agree with me on that,” Perdue said. “You want people who don’t worry about the next election.”
The comment — which came during a discussion of the economy — perked more than a few ears. It’s unclear whether Perdue, a Democrat, is serious — but her tone was level and she asked others to support her on the idea.
However every other media outlets are reporting this as a credible proposal. As I wrote earlier after Rush Limbaugh castigated the N&O last week, this newspaper is a joke. Governor Bev knows that her days are numbered as her chances of being re-elected are low. This statement will be remembered as the crowning achievement of a failed administration that has caused North Carolina’s economy to collapse at a faster rate than the rest of the nation. As the picture above shows, the people of North Carolina are suffering the consequences of an Obama puppet administration.
During a conversation earlier today, the topic came up that the Democrats are coming to realize that Obama will not be re-elected. My opinion was that if Obama comes to that same conclusion, there is no telling what his narcissistic personality will do. When pressed, I stated that he would suspend elections in 2012. After the laughter subsided, I asked a simple question: what would you do if you were the most powerful person (not leader) in the world and knew that your time was up? The usual answer for Chicago Thug politics is create a crisis. Although I gave a few options for such a crisis that I will not repeat, there was no more laughter. Maybe Governor Bev is foreshadowing our worst nightmare.
