Putin Lays Down The Law At Valdai

The big quote from his talk is the one everyone is focusing on, and rightly so, Russia’s policy about using nuclear weapons.

It’s not that Putin’s stance was any different than in the past. The question is whether you are prepared for the future and if you will act with honor and morality.

These are hardly the words of a meek man nor the words of one disposed towards peace. A confident man need not rattle his sword nor boradcast the size of it. One meerly needs to lknow that he will not hesitate to use it to full effect. This is clearly not Putin’s intent nor his message.
