Ron Paul: “Reality Is Now Setting In For America… It Was All Based On Lies & Ignorance”

If Americans were honest with themselves they would acknowledge that the Republic is no more. We now live in a police state. If we do not recognize and resist this development, freedom and prosperity for all Americans will continue to deteriorate. All liberties in America today are under siege.

It didn’t happen overnight. It took many years of neglect for our liberties to be given away so casually for a promise of security from the politicians. The tragic part is that the more security was promised — physical and economic — the less liberty was protected.

With cradle-to-grave welfare protecting all citizens from any mistakes and a perpetual global war on terrorism, which a majority of Americans were convinced was absolutely necessary for our survival, our security and prosperity has been sacrificed.

It was all based on lies and ignorance. Many came to believe that their best interests were served by giving up a little freedom now and then to gain a better life.

The trap was set.

Remember how the Republican establishment and the military complex railed against Ron Paul, many called him a fringe lunatic. Remember how the common “conservative man” said that Ron Paul spoke nonsense? As the process of time continues, it seems that Ron Paul’s insights are closer to the truth than many want to acknowledge. Many “conservatives” are still benefiting from the government feeding trough. The god of Mammon reigns.

Ron Paul is on target about the Constitution and limited government, but that’s about all he’s right about. He’s demonstrated such colossally poor judgement about enough other things to disqualify him for anything above the office of dog catcher.

He surrounds himself with lunatics, and he encourages their lunacy, and he’s a disciple of Mammon who will say almost anything for a buck.

Consider the outrageous things he used to say to sell his newsletters to survivalists and white supremacists. I doubt that he really believed that MLK Jr. “seduced underage girls and boys,” but that was among the “red meat” he tossed to his rabid newsletter subscribers. (Of course, there’s not a speck of evidence to support such an accusation.)

That was very much in character for Ron Paul. He has a long record of lying and pandering to unsavory nutcases, like 9-11 Truthers and white supremacists, usually to make money.

Ron Paul is a nutcase, who surrounds himself with even nuttier nutcases, like Lew Rockwell and Alex Jones.

Jones and Paul are tight. Paul has been on Jones’ radio show over 200 times, and Alex Jones is a vile, anti-American con-man. His web sites and radio & TV shows are mind pollution. There is no lie too outrageous, no smear too blatant or too vicious for Alex Jones. He will say anything.

For instance, Jones says that Bush Administration blew up the World Trade Center, and that 9-11 and “every major case” of terrorism were really U.S. government plots:

He also says the evil government is intentionally poisoning you with vaccines, fluoride, and “chemtrails,” to keep you docile and infertile.

Here’s what Jones says about real American conservatives:

Here’s Jones in action, abusing sweet Michelle Malkin:

Would YOU have a friend like that? Why does Ron Paul?

Then there’s Lew Rockwell, who’s one of Paul’s oldest and closest associates. Here’s a capture of Rockwell’s web site, giving top billing to nutter David Ray Griffin’s accusation that President Bush conspired with Al Qaeda to destroy the World Trade Center:
http://www.mooregop.org/Lew_Rockwell_is_insane.html

People who think that Bush/Cheney wired the Twin Towers with explosives on 9/10/2001, or similar, like David Ray Griffin, are complete and utter loons. So are people like Rockwell & Jones who promote those loons’ ravings.

Ron Paul appears to have no heart, either. He even opposes PEPFAR, which (thanks to the great Sen. Jesse Helms, and President George W. Bush) has saved MILLIONS of Africans’ lives, and greatly reduced the spread of HIV/AIDS, and hugely enhanced America’s stature in the world.

Even GENOCIDE doesn’t bother Ron Paul. Here he claims, on national TV, that intervention to stop genocide was unconstitutional; he even opposed sending food aid:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=gI5MKFoFda0
(be sure to listen all the way to the end, to hear the serious candidates’ marvelous rebuttals)

Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution gives the United States government authority “To define and punish… Offenses against the Law of Nations.” Of course, there is no clearer offense against the Law of Nations than genocide! But Ron Paul either doesn’t know, or doesn’t care — about the Constitution, or about genocide.

That’s not the only example of Ron Paul twisting the Constitution to match his agenda. When he voted against the Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act (H.R. 748, CIANA), his excuse was his claim that it was unconstitutional.

That’s transparent nonsense. Taking a child across State lines for an abortion (without the knowledge or consent of the parents) is very clearly “interstate commerce” under the Constitution, which the federal government has authority to regulate or prohibit. A lot of laws stretch the Interstate Commerce Clause beyond recognition, but CIANA did not.

Ron Paul lies about other things, too. For instance, first he said that he put out those racist newsletters he marketed to white supremacists & survivalists. Then he defended them & said they were taken out of context. Now he says he didn’t write them & didn’t know what was in them. When you lie as much as Paul does, I guess it’s hard to keep your story straight:

Remember his infamous accusation that MLK Jr. “seduced underage boys and girls?” Here’s the exact quote, from the Ron Paul Political Report, Dec. 1990 issue:

“He [Martin Luther King, Jr] was also a comsymp, if not an actual party member, and the man who replaced the evil of forced segregation with the evil of forced integration. King, the FBI files show, was not only a world-class adulterer, he also seduced underage girls and boys.”

Here’s a scan of the actual newsletter page:

He just made that up. There are no such FBI files. It’s all lies.

His previous issue cheered KKK former Grand Wizard David Duke David Duke’s strong Senate primary showing in Louisiana.

He also said, both in his newsletter, and also in his interview with the Dallas Morning News, “95 percent of the black males in [Washington, DC] are semi-criminal or entirely criminal.” How’s that for race-baiting?

Here’s lots more documentation of Ron Paul’s vile racist history:

So if it’s not right to call Ron Paul a loon, that’s only because it would be unfair to loons.
