Even a Christmas card, I spend time finding the “right card” and I pray over the card and spend time writing a message that is meaningful to the reciever as well as myself. The card is a gift of time, energy and money(card, postage) to the recipient that I care about. Isn’t that what Christmas is about-the baby in the manger who came because HE CARED about us?

I just read a wonderful devotion that blew my mind: Since most scholars believe Jesus was born around the month of September, if we count back 9 months, we come to the month of December. That means God wanted us to celebrate the miracle of Jesus’ Conception! The story of the angel Gabriel’s announcement to Mary and Mary’s Magnificat are written for us for this reason. God, ancient cultures, and some cultures today consider conception the time when Life begins. So don’t be a humbug about December being Jesus’s actual birthday, but Praise and Worship the miracle of The Holy Spirit conceiving Jesus!!!
