You are describing Bureaucrats that “produce” nothing but are in charge of raising their own salary and devising ways of extorting the hapless taxpayer for their own interests. This is the reason why any form of Socialism will NEVER work. The problem is they bate the trap with “Free Stuff” and therein rests the “hook’. If only I could assist the General Population in understanding that 1) Homo sapiens is NOT nice and 2) Homo sapiens is an opportunist. To follow that 3) Anything for Free has NO value. The Founders said that if we were to be really FREE, we had to be Responsible for ourselves.
