Been looking and listening for comments on the subject of charging the Governors of the several States with Treason.
What seems to be overlooked in the discussion of the charge of Treason, is the precise definition of the term: (US Constitution, Article 3 Section 3)
“Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.”
“Them” and “their” (in bold text above) refers to the several States, not the central government.
We have in our Constitution no legal prohibition against retaliatory action against tyrannical behavior of the central government.
Jefferson clarified the founders’ belief regarding this in the Kentucky Resolutions, 1798, in which he stated:
“The several states composing the United States of America are not united on the principle of unlimited submission to their general government…“
So Spain dropped a major bomb under cover of Friday evening media indifference. Monday’s markets may describe the beginning of the end for the Western financial system… Everyone who is paying attention will have absorbed this data, conferred with their friends, and will respond as a coordinated, self-interested front when the Monday Morning (FaceBook hangover) bell sounds on the European markets.
Wall Street will open after the response trend is already well in motion across Europe, so US markets will be hit with an immediate wall of response as soon as trading begins…
Shall we hear a bang or a whimper at that moment? Your guess is as good as mine, but I would not count on a peaceful Monday…
@LT…just noticed that in a Reuters article that it is mentioned about US style stimulus. I wasn’t really expecting till after the elections but guess with daily deterioration of the global market it appears they will not wait. Once again to the burden of the US taxpayers with the yet more dollar devaluation. 🙁
