My email to the Republican legislators:

HB562 and other bills to restore an unfettered Right to Keep and Bear Arms

Madame / Sir:

I am very disappointed that Republicans who were elected to the North Carolina Assembly have turned their backs on on the concept of individual liberty, and refuse to restore Rights protected by the Second Amendment.

Particularly disappointing are actions of Ted Davis, Leo Daughtry and John Fraley who almost killed HB562. This ‘Gang of Three’ have betrayed their constituents. Do not risk sharing their fate.

Actions at the General Assembly demonstrate there is little value to be gained from begging the legislature for permission to do that which is ours by Right – to obtain and carry the tools we determine necessary for defense of our lives.

When unalienable rights of men are conditioned by a legislature, men receive a mere hologram of liberty until future legislators change their minds and revoke their privilege.  Then men will realize they never gained an affirmation of their pre-existing Right.

Alarmists wave their arms and scream “safety!”.  Ben Franklin commented a long while ago:  “They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

Legislation that goes beyond injury to persons and damage to property is both aggressive and tyrannical. Such statutes, ordinances and regulations should be bent, broken, circumvented by all men – openly and proudly.

Repeal all statutes, ordinances and regulations malum prohibitum that restrict acquisition and carry of personal arms for self defense.  Decriminalize the historically lawful behaviors of peaceful men and women.

By operating a “police state”, you are teaching peaceful men and women that it is moral to disobey the dictates of the legislature; that voluntary outlawry is preferable to irrational submission.

Hans Mentha
“The state calls its own violence law,
but that of the individual, crime.”

Max Stirner

“You cannot free a slave; he has to do it himself.
And you cannot enslave a free man;
the most you can do is kill him.”

Robert A. Heinlein.
