“you will know that the need is not the same as the call— the need is the opportunity to exercise the call. The call is to be faithful to the ministry you received when you were in true fellowship with Him. This does not imply that there is a whole series of differing ministries marked out for you. It does mean that you must be sensitive to what God has called you to do, and this may sometimes require ignoring demands for service in other areas.”
People get wrapped around the axle on this. They think of ONE WAY that their gift of even calling can be used and are devastated when it does not happen.
A wise fellow and friend told me once “concentrate on being WHO God called you to be, and then the DOING will take care of itself.
I’m glad you wrote the above. So many think evangelism is the only ministry. Paul addresses this in Hebrews 5: 12-14 basically saying babies need milk but adults need strong meat. Too bad there are so many spiritually malnourished and decieved, believing they are warriors for Christ when they know not the whole book that should have been eaten, and can’t handle the gospel armour.
Talk of an intimate knowledge of our Lord. When He said, “Lo I come in the volume of the book”. Spit, He also said, “Get out of my sight I never knew you”, at His return.
Some of them Jesus called catamites (see word “soft” as in soft raiment) when the fancy dans came out to see John the baptist.
Only 2 out of 7 churches cut the mustard in the letters to the 7 churches in Rev chaps 2&3.those churches are types of the end time churches, not geographical, not historical.
Many are called but few are chosen because most are or will be apostate and will worship the false christ Satan with his silver tongued promise of a rapture.
Even Billy Graham said if he had it all to do over, that he would have spent his life studying the Word (more meat less milk). Get a bible teacher not an evangelist once your saved.
Don’t like to plug but Pastor Arnold Murray, The Shepherds Chapel is still on Youtube recommend The Mark of the Beast study, The book of Genesis study and the rest of the Word.
Arnold survived Chosin res, a Marine who passed in 2014.
I pray your studies are meaty.
