I have noticed more and more believers calling the Messiah Yeshua/Yashua/Yahoshua/Yahushua.
I found an interesting article about it and thought I’d share.
While many many great things have been done in Jesus’ name, and I know He knows who we pray to….
Still, names matter. The article basically says the name Jesus was created in the 1600s due to a fascination with a new sound, the “J” sound, which didn’t exist before then.
Very interesting. I know Bear Independent of YouToobz and Patreon fame uses this name to discuss the Messiah and I find him a very knowledgeable man.
Anyway, here it is. Research it yourself and draw your own conclusions.

Shalom Chaverim (friends),
I am delighted that Lawless delves into the Hebrew Roots of our faith! Words fail when trying to name our Lord, Savior and Messiah, yet knowing “why” we do what we do always has some value. The attached article is one of several theories about the linguistic vagaries of translating names, especially that of Messiah Yeshua (just gave my tradition away).
Yeshua in short form means “salvation”, while the long form, Yahushua, does indeed man “God saves”, or “Salvation is from ADONAI”. Regardless of what we call Him, He is still LORD! Real preparedness means being prepared spiritually as well. I try to facilitate that here in my local area and enjoin all of you to reflect and seek Him.
