None of the Guardsmen are armed and it is an overreaction by Iceage Prepper.

I do not discount the thrust of this video which is that there is a severe food shortage in the offing. It will happen, probably worsening in the next two to three weeks.

There are several things at work here:

A. The virus has hit several meat processing plants where the workers are close together on an assembly line with animal parts flowing by them. The workers are heavily clad in warm clothing since they work in about 28 degree temperatures regardless of the weather outside the building.

We know the Kung Fu Flu virus thrives in colder environments. Without effective masks on the workers it would not take much for the virus to spread throughout the workforce. So when several have the flu it makes sense for the factory management to shut it down to prevent ALL workers from catching the virus. Remember that these workers are skilled in swiftly cutting up chickens, hogs, cattle for packaging and then delivery to YOUR grocery…..

They work for low wages, most for under $10 an hour in bitter cold with accurate swiftness required in their actions. Many are women who take on such work because the medical insurance is excellent and their husbands worked in construction or were self-employed. They keep working in the harsh conditions because they get medical benefits for their families not available any other way in their location. (I know this because I lived and worked between two huge chicken processing plants and many of my law office clients were employed by or had family in those processing plants. Other clients were the framers who produced the grain that fed the chickens, while other clients were the farmers who owned and ran the chicken growing farms that produced the animals every six weeks needed to keep the processing plants with a full level of animals to process.)

B. The colleges, schools, restaurants and other institutional organizations which once purchased 40% of the meats produced are not now ordering/buying any meats. This causes the processors to slow and stop their production. That in turn stops much of the former from buying the farm raised animals from the farmers.

C. Animals, like grown vegetables are timed for delivery by the farmer to the bulk buyers so that the volume of animals matches the needs of the market. The bulk buyers then sell their products to the processors who then sell them to the food service companies who then deliver the foods to the restaurants and institutional purchasers.

D. Meanwhile, there is a completely separate system for growing animals and vegetables which are then moved to and through processors to the groceries and then are available for the individual consumer to purchase. This is a different supply chain from that of the restaurant and institutional purchasers. So if a farmer or producer cannot sell to his nearby bulk buyer, he does not have easy access to any other purchaser of his production. Could he feed his animals beyond their maximum production date ??….yes, but will that allow him to find a buyer who will pay him for the feed he has already put into the animals? That is why many are now euthanizing their animals and are plowing under their crops because there are no purchasers, even at a loss, and creating more loss has no possible positive outcome either for the farmer.

Is it wise for the President to push for a national delivery program ? Perhaps not. I still believe that the capitalist system, with its excesses and failings is still the best system to provide the delivery of the cheapest goods to the consumer and with the greatest availability/lack of shortages.

Our lock down of society has destroyed the capitalist system and its incentive to maximize production and delivery of goods.

Wish we had not done what we have done. But we did it, and we cannot undo what has transpired. We pretty much all agreed to the temporary surrender of our freedoms and underwent lock down for the hope that by doing so we would hold this Virus in check and would then have a collective benefit worth more than the cost surrendered.

I am not sure that the cost has been exceeded by the benefit….

A blood bath? i see a blood bath for all of us if we do not cut the crap.
i will bet that there would be people willing to go and pick up the animals take them away and butcher them their selves and give to each other.
i am so disgusted by what i perceive as waste.
Even an animals death should carry some meaning or service. Killing any animal and wasting the meat pisses me off.
