America’s Real Crisis: The Question of Who, or What—is our Authority

Underneath the maelstrom of America’s political crisis is a question that demands an answer. The question: What is America’s ultimate source of authority? Have we finally begun to evolve into humanism, as leftists claim—after centuries of ignorant, bigoted and sexist Bible fixation?

Or, can our historical beliefs be preserved in the face of a godless onslaught? Must the US now walk into an atheist worldview, complete with matching societal and political implications? The identity of American authority is the question of the age. And our answer will certainly decide the fate of America.

I. Failure of American Authority: Biblical or Humanistic?

America is presently confused as to the definition of truth, or its source. This is obvious at the increasing popularity of gay marriage by supposed Christians, as well as support for the forceful confiscation and redistribution of property by presumed Constitution advocates. Yet, America was once a biblical culture, and probably expressed its biblical beliefs as well as any in history. For example, the liberties promised by Jesus in the Bible… “Then you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free” (John 8:32) were expressed and defended in the Constitution. The crowning achievement of the Founders was the First Amendment’s tripartite defense of Speech, Religion and the Press.

Rev 18:2
And he cried mightilyfn with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!

Rev 18:3
“For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.”

The author’s point is not that clear. Whether this nation remains capitalistic or moves towards Marxism is not really what matters. According to the Scripture above, is it all about what or who one worships. If one worships wealth and prosperity one is condemned to hell. Whether it is the masses who believe that socialism will increase their prosperity or the princes of this earth who oppress the masses in worshipping their god, Bel, all pledge their lives to their father Satan.

What I see is that the kings of the earth are creating a system which is better identified as Corporate Feudalism. The mixture of government and corporation is leading to a system of fascism. The pursuit of wealth and provision, absent the Word of God will destroy this nation from within. The “merchants” led by the work of men like Bernays have created a system that denies God and replaces Him with Humanism. The “wine” drunk by the world, is that philosophy which teaches, man’s chief purpose, it to be happy.

So the author is correct in creating the dialectic of God versus Humanism. But he misses the mark with the rest of the article.
