Dozens of anti-US protestors are set to gather outside the University of Cape Town on Sunday where President Barack Obama is set to address hundreds of students.

Obama leaves Gauteng this morning after a 36-hour visit and will fly to the Mother City.

The so-called Nobama Coalition represents about 20 groups and organisations.

The group’s spokesperson Shaheed Mahomed says the protest will be peaceful.

“Our intention is to comply with the picketing laws of the country. We are going to get as many people as we can to come. We will show them that we are peaceful.”

Obama and his family will first visit Robben Island and also stop by the Desmond Tutu HIV Youth Foundation in Noordhoek.

On Saturday, police dispersed anti-Obama protesters outside the University of Johannesburg’s Sowet campus.

The protesters were voicing their opposition to America’s drone strikes.
