Lots of illegals who live in sanctuary city of Asheville need income and free health care and housing, so the landowners need to pay up.

This is something I hadn’t thought of. I suppose there would be property tax that would be due for this year, and yet shouldn’t a county tax appraiser visit each property to determine the reduced value as of the date the hurricane came through? They shouldn’t owe the full tax as though the property was still intact. What happens when a residence is destroyed by fire when a candle tips over, for instance? We know this is just another approach by the government to grab property without paying for it.

Taxation is theft

How long are delinquent taxes allowed in N.C. before the state auctions the property off to pay the taxes owed? In S.C. it’s two years. If it’s something like that in N.C., I’d wait until the county assesor could come out and reassess the value of the property for tax purposes. It would be cheaper to do that and pay a late penalty in my opinion.

Easy solution. Eliminate property taxes and restore true ownership back to the people. Two years, three years……who cares? No one should ever lose their home for this reason.

Here in East Texas the majority of the property tax goes to the cartel school district. Every year the teachers whine on about how they are underpaid, however, they are the highest paid group in the county. Their mantra is higher teacher salaries will make the students smarter, but the inconvenient fact remains that college entrance testing results show that the scores have declined every year for decades. At the local high school approximately 38% of the students are classified as “at risk” as they have no reading or math skills so it interesting that 100% of the students graduate. The school district is rated as a low B status by the State of Texas but the school district administrators and teachers claim (propaganda) it is the best school district in the state. Of course the parents buy into the propaganda and always vote to increase school property extortion taxes. Who is $ John Galt?

If someone is getting a tax bill for a ‘structure’ that no longer exists--then you can request a ‘re-assessment’ and be taxed only on the land-value if the structure is no longer standing or has been demolished. If the land no longer exists because it has been washed away, along with the home--then tell them to go pound sand because it ain’t ever coming back.

Why don’t the people that have lost their land just report it as “stolen”? If the river, which North Carolina is supposed to control, smashed their homes and vehicles, eroded their land, and possibly killed their relatives, just sue the living shit out of the state for not being better prepared for just such an occasion?
No ” Oh sorry, the weather, hurricane, tornado, rain, mud slide, etc., is an ACT of God.” Back up there Jetherone, the founding fathers of this nation declared a separation of Church and State! You can’t force religion on the people of the state when it suits you, while denying it at every other corner when it is to your advantage! Insurance companies took their money knowing that could happen, and it did, they should be made to pay, plus extra for undue mental and physical anguish!!

I’d tell them to come and collect this tax that they say I owe. I’d happily pay them one bullet at a time.

Meanwhile, today in UKR the U.S. continues to pay the salaries/perks/healthcare & pensions of UKR’s first responders.
No taxes, no repayment necessary. Think of it as a gift from the beleaguered people of NC--and the other 49 states too.
