Barack Obama: can anybody beat him?

Conservatives now have two favorite past times:

1. Arguing among themselves which Republican candidate will be able to beat Obama.
2. Assuring themselves that Obama will be a one-term president.

This election will be about money. Obama will raise at least $1 billion for his reelection campaign. Just like the 2008 election, this money will come from various sources including illegal contributions from Middle Eastern countries. Mitt Romney’s ability to raise $1 billion dollars in the next election was widely reported in the media. Any candidate who cannot raise this amount will automatically lose and should drop out.

Since when was an election in the United States based on money instead of the quality of the candidates? When we accepted the rationalization that we can vote for the lesser of two evils. Political affiliation overrides qualifications, civic duty and our own morality based on the founding principles of this country.

What are our neighbors across the pond reporting about the 2012 elections? The first article is from the United Kingdom?

US economy seems to be the only obstacle between the resurgent president and re-election

Some say it was the bullet to Osama bin Laden’s head. Others point to the Republicans’ seemingly insatiable desire to inflict self-harm since they took back control of the lower house of Congress in last year’s elections. And then there is the growing realisation that Barack Obama might just have saved America from economic disaster.

Whatever the cause, a president who just a few weeks ago was regarded by his political opponents as being on the ropes before the fight for re-election had even properly begun is now being treated with a new, grudging respect as his poll numbers rise and he comes out punching.

Or a report from an Irish Bookmaker (no relation to the president):

Obama Reelection 71 Percent Likely After Bin Laden Kill, Says Irish Bookmaker

More bad news for the fledgling Republican presidential field.

Ireland’s largest bookmaker slashed the odds on President Barack Obama winning reelection from 4-7 to 2-5 thanks to his triumph in hunting down and killing Osama bin Laden.

Paddy Power said the incumbent now has the shortest odds of securing a second term since he took office in January of 2009. Obama now has a 71 percent probability of winning four more years in the White House.

The company recalculated its odds based on scores of bets that rolled in Monday morning after news broke that the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks was no more.

“Recent events in Pakistan have literally whipped punters into a frenzy with more bets placed on President Obama in the past 24-hours that in the past six months,” said company spokesman Ken Robertson.

How about the possibly fraudulent report (link is still valid) from economist Walter Williams who fills in for Rush Limbaugh:

Williams says we’re doomed to a second helping of Obama

Obama’s reelection is really a very, very simple math problem. Consider the following:

1) Blacks will vote for Obama blindly. Period. Doesn’t matter what he does. It’s a race thing. He’s one of us,

2) College educated women will vote for Obama. Though they will be offended by this, they swoon at his oratory. It’s really not more complex than that,

3) Liberals will vote for Obama. He is their great hope,

4) Democrats will vote for Obama. He is the leader of their party and his coattails will carry them to victory nationwide,

5) Hispanics will vote for Obama. He is the path to citizenship for those who are illegal and Hispanic leaders recognize the political clout they carry in the Democratic Party,

6) Union members will vote overwhelmingly for Obama. He is their key to money and power in business, state and local politics,

7) Big Business will support Obama. They already have. He has almost $1 Billion dollars in his reelection purse gained largely from his connections with Big Business and is gaining more everyday. Big Business loves Obama because he gives them access to taxpayer money so long as they support his social and political agenda,

The media love him. They may attack the people who work for him, but they love him. After all, to not love him would be racist,

9) Most other minorities and special interest groups will vote for him. Oddly, the overwhelming majority of Jews and Muslims will support him because they won’t vote Republican. American Indians will support him. Obviously homosexuals tend to vote Democratic. And lastly,

10) Approximately half of independents will vote for Obama. And he doesn’t need anywhere near that number because he has all of the groups previously mentioned. The President will win an overwhelming victory in 2012

These reports do not only predict a win for Obama, they foreshadow the complete destruction of our country’s freedom. Hopeless chains is Obama’s real election slogan. I would tend to believe that the above points were not written by Walter Williams. I will let the reader decide if the points are valid.
