Canton, NC – A plan is announced to sell 55.8 acres of county government-owned land to be turned into a garbage drop and distribution facility. The announcement was made with little advanced notice, causing residents to call an emergency town hall to discuss their concerns. None of the county commissioners or plan representatives attended the citizen town hall.
