Declaration of the Causes and Necessity of Taking up Arms

July 6, 1775

Our cause is just. Our union is perfect. Our internal resources are great, and, if necessary, foreign assistance is undoubtedly attainable. — We gratefully acknowledge, as signal instances of the Divine favour towards us, that his Providence would not permit us to be called into this severe controversy, until we were grown up to our present strength, had been previously exercised in warlike operation, and possessed of the means of defending ourselves. With hearts fortified with these animating reflections, we most solemnly, before God and the world, declare, that, exerting the utmost energy of those powers, which our beneficent Creator hath graciously bestowed upon us, the arms we have been compelled by our enemies to assume, we will, in defiance of every hazard, with unabating firmness and perseverance, employ for the preservation of our liberties; being with one mind resolved to die freemen rather than to live slaves.

In our own native land, in defence of the freedom that is our birthright, and which we ever enjoyed till the late violation of it — for the protection of our property, acquired solely by the honest industry of our fore-fathers and ourselves, against violence actually offered, we have taken up arms. We shall lay them down when hostilities shall cease on the part of the aggressors, and all danger of their being renewed shall be removed, and not before.

Most people have never heard of the above treatise written by Thomas Jefferson and revised by John Dickinson. The main difference between then and now is that our government has been usurped by traitors who have assumed the divine right of kings and queens. The tyranny is still the same.

Thank you for “teaching” myself and others. I am over 70 and I don’t remember this ever being taught to me when I was in public school. I hate to think what is taught in public school today. Thanks again

These words ring true to me, becoming more reality every day, I hope for others. We do not have an infinity of time, yet I think the “final straw” must be a political or physical assault from the Anti-Constitutionalists that can be clearly understood and revolting enough, despicable enough to galvanize our fellow Patriots to unquestionable action.
We do not require a majority, as most will sit on the fence, only 20% are hardcore Bolsheviks and NWO Apparatchiks. The Media-Politicians and Woke Corporates are keeping too many of us subdued and questioning the Resolve needed to Restore something resembling a sane representative government.
Avoiding the first strike, while hopefully preserving those that are attacked by the Tyrannicals is the ideal, imo. Ideals are seldom achieved in actuality however. Being really Ready and actually Prepared is the essential 1st step.

Alexander Hamilton said in The Federalist Papers, “no influence over either the sword or the purse, …It may truly be said to have neither FORCE nor WILL, but merely judgment.” In other words, the Supreme Court can issue its opinions but has no power to enforce them or compel anybody to submit to them.
President Andrew Jackson was exactly right when he is reported to have said to Chief Justice Marshall in a highly charged case involving Indian removal, “The Chief Justice has issued his opinion. Now let him enforce it.
Since the Court has no authority over anyone who did not appear in its chambers, the searing question for today is this: When the Supreme Court told us nobody in America could have prayer and Bible reading in schools, why did we (Americans) listen?
Not-with-standing the EVIL and atrocious, MANY FAULTS, of and by Americans in past years, such as the Indian “Slaughters”, Slavery and INVADING other countries, you “gotta’ LOVE and RESPECT the COURAGE and INDEPENDENCE OF Americans back then. What happened since ??? –that is a RHETORICAL QUESTION. Of course ! One only has to look at the MASK WEARING to know the ANSWER. For you Christians, could what is happening now, that is, the TOTAL LACK of COURAGE and PRINCIPLES, to stand up to their own Government, with the simple WORDS –“NO, I will NOT Consent”, be “God’s” JUSTICE, or I as an Atheist, I would say from NATURAL LAW, “What GOES around COMES around” ? You all VIOLATED OTHERS on this Planet and NOW it is your Turn to be VIOLATED, not as REVENGE , But as a LESSON” .Who was it said ”Repent and you Shall be SAVED”.
As an ATHEIST I interpret that to mean- “Admit your Guilt, and then CHANGE your WAYS which will give you back your DISCERNMENT and COURAGE to KNOW and FIGHT, TODAY’S ENEMY”.
I am talking about regaining your RIGHTS to LIFE, Liberty and Property Ownership, as HUMANS.
