Living Water:
Jeremiah 2:13
For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary
2:9-13 Before God punishes sinners, he pleads with them, to bring them to repentance. He pleads with us, what we should plead with ourselves. Be afraid to think of the wrath and curse which will be the portion of those who throw themselves out of God’s grace and favour. Grace in Christ is compared to water from a fountain, it being cooling and refreshing, cleansing and making fruitful: to living water, because it quickens dead sinners, revives drooping saints, supports and maintains spiritual life, and issues in eternal life, and is ever-flowing. To forsake this Fountain is the first evil; this is done when the people of God neglect his word and ordinances. They hewed them out broken cisterns, that could hold no water. Such are the world, and the things in it; such are the inventions of men when followed and depended on. Let us, with purpose of heart, cleave to the Lord only; whither else shall we go? How prone are we to forego the consolations of the Holy Spirit, for the worthless joys of the enthusiast and hypocrite!
Barnes’ Notes on the Bible
The pagan are guilty of but one sin -- idolatry; the covenant-people commit two -- they abandon the true God; they serve idols.

Thank you for sharing God’s word with us. Idolatry was pretty obvious in the OT. They just formed things with their hands and paid homage.
Today, it is much more subtle. In so called Christianity, the triune god is a slick trick by the adversary to put Jesus and the holy spirit on equal worship time with the true God.
For those who aren’t into denominational worship of the triune god, worship of self is evident. Just look at someone’s tik tok social influencer account. They will do or say anything to get your attention.

If we payed half the attn. to His Word as we do the current thing, it would be monumental.
Stan , what is your impression (if you don’t mind) of thee Giant statues of Jesus erected and being erected, south America?

Jeremiah 17:10a
“I the Lord God searcheth the heart….”
The heart is our thought patterns. What matters is the motive behind our actions. For example, if I shoot a man because I hate him, my action is wrong. However, if I shoot a man to protect my family from harm, the action is right. Same action, different motive.
I’m not familiar with the statues you refer to. What’s important to God is the motive. He searches the heart. We can see someone’s action but the thoughts of the heart only God knows.
Is the statuest to worship Jesus as part of the triune god or is it to show homage to him as our lord and savior? BIG DIFFERENCE! The trinitarians have Jesus back in the beginning in Genesis and later on making a trip down toe earth as savior. He was born, he had a beginning. God was his father. He impregnated Mary. After all he is God!
47 times the scriptures refer to Jesus as the son of God. He is called god the son 0 times. No god the son, no trinity. You can research the mysterious beginning of the triune god for more clarification.

Thank you for keeping us abreast with Boots on the Ground. This is my third experience with this sort of inflation; US in 70’s, South Africa in the 90’s and this… Subjectively the 70’s was bad and South Africa was worse. This is now as bad as the South African experience and may indeed be worse.
