Bruce Springsteen is taking a stand over recently passed legislation in North Carolina that requires people in the state to use gendered public restrooms that match their birth certificate, specifically targeting transgender people. In a statement posted to Facebook on Friday, Springsteen canceled an upcoming show in Greensboro, N.C., over the law.
“Some things are more important than a rock show and this fight against prejudice and bigotry — which is happening as I write — is one of them,” Springsteen wrote. “It is the strongest means I have for raising my voice in opposition to those who continue to push us backwards instead of forwards.”
North Carolina’s “bathroom bill,” which is officially called the Public Facilities Privacy and Security Act, was signed into law by North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory in March. Never mind that North Carolina police have admitted that the law is essentially unenforcible, there is no factual evidence to support the pervasive theory behind this law, which is that sexual predators would exploit transgender nondiscrimination laws in order to enact assaults. Data compiled by Media Matters for America shows that states with laws preventing discrimination against trans people have no evidence of a rise in sexual assaults.

Who knew has easy it would be to stop Yankees from coming South!
David DeGerolamo
who cares he is a piece of lying garbage anyway from New Jersey, and who cares what the slug does. he Is the type that says does as I say but not as I do, and he is great at tax evasion, no 1 in my book of liars. This fraud should just die and gives all a berak.
I just hope and pray that North Carolina does not back down. Those American citizens who have decent moral and ethical values should NOT have to take a back seat to perverts or any one else who delights in mocking God. Even the head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, is capitulating to the evils of this world when, in one breath, he says he does not want to change the moral teachings of the Church, but in another breath, he tells his flock and the world that we should be more accepting and tolerant of those living in sinful life styles, including homosexuals, and those who are pro abortion. I’m sorry, but when you start accepting filth and immorality into your midst, how long does one think it will take before such behavior becomes the norm? To you mayors and governors who don’t like what the people of North Carolina, or any other State are doing, when it comes to protecting the rights of Christians, M.Y.O.D.B!
“Who knew how easy it would be to stop Yankees from coming South!”
David, I’ll believe that when I start seeing homes in Cary and Morrisville deeply discounted… damn yanks are like roaches -- they consume everything, and they’re incredibly hard to get rid of once they make themselves comfortable.
You mean the Containment Area for Relocated Yankees?
Just keep in mind that not all Yankees are liberals. My family left the People’s Republic of New York years ago for NC because my Dad knew what NY was turning into. And to be honest, if it weren’t for conservative Northerners like my family, NC would never have had its first Republican governor in 20 years.
Hell, I don’t care where you’re from. So long as you are a decent, God fearing conservative, you’re fine in my book. In the situation that the country is currently in, we need to judge a a man based on his character, not where he’s from.
My wife and I sent an e-mail of support to the Governor, it is important for our elected leaders to hear from us on this…the pressure from outside is building and we have to remind them of our support and we are the people who elected them, not Pay Pal or Bruce Springsteen…and we will be the ones who re-elect them
Our state government will hold firm as long as McCrory stays in office and we keep a Republican Senate and Congress.
Met Springsteen once; you ever meet someone and immediately want to bash them in the mouth? What a dick.
The sad part is once this piece of crap gets low on money he will change his bull shityious opinion and forget all about this…. take comfort in knowing he wont survive the die off period.
