Can’t buy groceries? DHS goes on another munitions spree with your money.

Tomorrow marks Patriots Day, a day to commemorate the deaths of innocent Americans at the hands of terrorists.

Sadly, Patriots are considered terrorists by this government. So the government stockpiles more and more ammunition.

In the last week alone, nearly 700 million dollars has been allocated for the purchase of firearms and ammunition by a variety of agencies within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)

This week, ICE has solicited for the purchase of 12 Gauge 00 Buck Reduced Recoil  shotgun rounds, made by the Federal Cartridge Corporation. Typically, in a solicitation, a set quantity is established. But in an effort similar to the TSA’s request for over $950,000,000 in explosive storage lockers, only an upper limit dollar amount is provided.

In this case, $524,043.20 has been allocated. At the estimated cost at the first link, that results in approximately 403,110 rounds. If they purchased the same rounds at their local Wal-Mart, then the cost would drop to approximately 26 cents a round or 2,015,550 rounds. But knowing government waste, they’ll probably pay 2 bucks a round and call it a savings.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP)

This week, CBP has requested the purchase of 287 Remington 870 shotguns to augment their armories. According to supporting documentation, only 125 shotguns are being requested. This is either a Scribner’s error, or is intentional. The total dollar amount is $159,698.75

Even in the midst of a budget crisis, this government agency has been stocking piling these weapons like a Prepper stockpiles beans and rice.
