Mexico confirms first 2 cases of coronavirus

There are many misconceptions concerning COVID-19 mainly because our leaders are not capable of addressing a biological threat. Their concern for the stock market has some merit but even if the virus burned out today, the economic consequences may have already become fixed.

But here is a fact that we should never accept: the Democrats are more concerned with making this a political issue than keeping the people safe from this virus. And in typical fashion, the Republicans react to their claims as another political cat fight begins. The difference in this case is the end result: millions of dead Americans because the issue is not addressed.

There is another difference in what has now become a political issue: this is the only issue that has not been created by our “leaders”. Since they are impotent on how to address it, hopefully we can learn that a few hundred leaders should not be running our lives. Especially when the stakes are our lives.

Steps to take:

1. Increase the quarantine period to 28 days.
2. Replace the Don’t Test, Don’t Tell policy with testing. No more excuses: South Korea has done over 20,000 tests in the past week so their excuse of a supply issue is just a lie.
3. Fire the head of the CDC. The CDC’s requirement for testing put the country at risk. Whether they were told to keep the policy in place for China travel or Chinese contact to be tested is moot.
4. Make N100 masks not N95 masks for protection against the virus.
5. Close down all air travel outside of the country. This is probably too late.

There are many other steps that need to be already underway such as production of antibiotics in the country. There is no excuse for someone dying of a bacterial infection due to a critical supply chain pathway to China that should never have been allowed to happen.

Let us see if the government will recognize the severity of this pandemic or continue to put the insatiable quest for power over everything else.
