Gov McCrory did veto H.786 — but we must make sure his veto is sustained.

CONTACT the above members AND your member of the state NC House and NC Senate NOW and urge them to sustain the Governor’s VETO of H.786, the Reclaim Act —- H.786 hurts our uemployed citizens and helps companies who hire illegal immigrants……our state unemployment rate is now the third highest and worst in the nation…..citizens need jobs NOT illegal immigrants. Governor McCrory was right to veto H.786.
The NC Farm Bureau says the veto of H.786 will hurt farmers but the original E-Verify bill passed in 2011 that the current H.786 bill attempts to gut, gave a waiver for seasonal workers who work less than 90 days from being checked through E-Verify. 90 days is more than enough time for temp migrant workers to harvest crops.
