COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Updates for Cherokee County, NC

Folks -- -- Watch Italy. Today they are where we will be in ten days.

Their hospitals are overloaded, many medical staff are out with the Kung Fu Flu….

They are lining up patients in the hallways and putting two patients on a ventilator made for one patient.

The strain of virus they have may be more virulent than the one which started in China.

As of yesterday they had the most reported deaths in any single day in any country.

With some 35K reported cases they have had over 3K deaths, a 9.3 % case fatality rate !!

France reported two days ago that more than half of their ICU patients with the virus were under age 60 while Netherlands reported that more than half their ICU virus patients were under age 50 years !!

Seems to be going after the young as well as we seniors….

Be SANITARY to be SAFE !!

Wear masks if you got’em when you shop, and gloves !! Then you MUST sanitize everything you bring into your home that was put onto a store shelf since this virus lives from 3 to nine days on various surfaces, depending on temperature and how much spit was expelled onto the coughed-upon surface.

Yes, that stockboy who put the cans on the shelf probably coughed on them and now, less than a day later, you bring them into your home where innocent loved ones will put their clean hands on the coughed up virus and will infect themselves. Wipe everything down with a solution of: one part household bleach to four parts water and let it remain wet for at least two minutes so the bleach can kill the millions of microscopic viruses that may be on the surface of the items purchased.

And no “five second rule” anymore ! You will walk on surfaces where people coughed or sneezed and then will track it into your house. Anything that touches the floor must be considered contaminated !!

And may the Good Lord bless us, every one (we’re gonna need it !! )
