What a buffoon! How about reading the writings of the founding fathers and get a clue.
If those in government are heedless of reason, the people must patiently submit to Bondage, or stand upon their own Defence; which if they are enabled to do, they shall never be put upon it, but their Swords may grow rusty in their hands; for that Nation is surest to live in Peace, that is most capable of making War; and a Man that hath a Sword by his side, shall have least occasion to make use of it.” — J. Trenchard & W. Moyle

“The best we can hope for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed.” — Alexander Hamilton

“We established however some, although not all its [self-government] important principles . The constitutions of most of our States assert, that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves, in all cases to which they think themselves competent, (as in electing their functionaries executive and legislative, and deciding by a jury of themselves, in all judiciary cases in which any fact is involved,) or they may act by representatives, freely and equally chosen; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed.” — Thomas Jefferson

“Oppressors can tyrannize only when they achieve a standing army, an enslaved press, and a disarmed populace.” — James Madison

and my favorite: “The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.” ~Thomas Jefferson

Mr. Glover has surly missed the obvious point, that the Constitution was written for ALL men even tho some were slave owners at the time of its origin. The 2nd. Amendment guaranteed men the right to take up arms to defend their lives and property (slaves included) from brutality by others. Also, with “all men being created equal” it would seem that even the “downtrodden” African-Americans would share in the law of defense to take up arms against tyranny.
I grow quite tired of the dark skinned people always drawing on the racism/slavery card. According to history, the white folks on the New England coast weren’t safe either as they were routinely taken and sold as slaves in foreign ports.
The indigenous people weren’t allowed to remain because someone wanted their resources.
What evil lurks in the hearts of men ……………….. only the Shadow knows.
