I would say that Deborah Ross is one of the top ten people in the state of North Carolina who has no regard for the state’s sovereignty or its people. However, I would never underestimate her prowess at making Republicans cower in fear as I saw many times in hearings like this one. The glare at the end was directed at William Gheen of ALIPAC.
Her record of supporting illegal aliens and a very progressive agenda have now propelled her to run for US Senate. What a sad day for North Carolina when the choice is between Richard Burr and Deborah Ross. Another example showing that there is no political solution.
For the record: We are the only country whose citizens (under the 14th amendment) can be called Americans. She does not even understand that we live in the United States of America. She probably thinks we should be called United Statists.

I know is was sarcasm.
I hear Ross use “America / American” as an alias for geography, or area of geographic origin. While this usage is not wrong, she uses the label (intentionally?yes) to impugn the concept of sovereign borders.
In both the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution, our forefathers established a formal “state” (aka government), with a formal “style’, upon a specific land area:
AoC … Article I. The Stile of this Confederacy shall be “The United States of America.” USC … do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
It is unfortunate that we use the label “American” as a national identifier when the nation-state is more properly the United States (which operates over a specific sub-set of geography in the Americas).
We, the inhabitants of those former “free and independent states” (which successfully seceded from English tyranny), cannot eliminate the tyranny of the United States Federal Government until such time as we properly identify the “nation” which imposes its’ will upon us.
If I am not mistaken, before the effort for Southern independence was given a set back, it was common for people to refer to themselves as Virginians, North Carolinians, Georgians, etc. rather than our current propagandized and nationalized state in which we pledge to the national government and refer to ourselves as “Americans.’ I, for one, have no problem in promoting and returning to the earlier and I believe more appropriate moniker.
That would be especially true under this idiots idea of a globalist notion of “Americans.”
