Destroying A Democracy To Save it: Democrats Call For The Disqualification Of Dozens Of Republican Members

Below is my column in the Hill on the continued calls to disqualify Republican members of Congress to prevent them from running for reelection. What is maddening is that Democratic groups and commentators are seeking to remove as many as 120 Republicans from the ballots in the name of democracy.

It is like burning books in the name of literacy.

Yet, on this anniversary of the January 6th riot, members of Congress and Democratic groups want to block voters from reelecting their preferred representatives. Like villages in Vietnam, it appears that some members and activists believe that you have to destroy democracy to save it from itself.

This week, Democratic lawyer Marc Elias predicted that 2022 would bring a renewed interest in disqualifying Republican members from office based on an obscure Civil War-era provision. Elias — the former Hilary Clinton campaign general counsel — is a well-known figure in Washington who has been prominently featured in the ongoing investigation of Special Counsel John Durham. Elias has founded a self-described “pro-democracy” group that challenges Republican voting laws and pledges to “shape our elections and democratic institutions for years to come.”

In the age of rage, nothing says democracy like preventing people from running for office.

We are not a democracy, we are a republic. The founders hated democracies.

I doubt the founders would recognize this charade as a republic. Lemmings vote with their feet too.

The truth be told, we have been a socialist nation since before I was born.

FDR moved us towards socialism and LBJ Cemented it with the Great Society! Wish Goldwater & Ross Perot would have been president!

I posted the same thing on ZeroHedge (and anywhere that statement is made) earlier. I am really getting tire of that statement. It is in the Constitution that we are guaranteed a republican form of government. Since we do not have it, I believe the Constitution is null and void.

Yes they stole the country a long time ago, we have been a socialist democracy for more than a hundred years. The world religious leaders all have the same message as some on this platform that claim it is our duty to serve. It is a lie, Were our founding fathers not seeking Gods guidance when they chose to fight the tyranny. You claim their is no righteous violence, another lie. You condemn yourself with your lies.

A year ago today, I watched America get violently sodomized by enemies within, and I do mean within the Capitol, not with protests but votes. Happy sore ass day.

The ugly seldom spoken truth is we are WAY beyond any peaceful resolution to the current situation. The criminals in power have no intentions on ever relinquishing their grasp on power and WILL do literally anything to maintain that grip. Anyone wanting to restore their freedoms has but one choice. Find a communist….or Democrat….the terms are synonymous, and kill them. Nothing short of that will stop the train wreck we are witnessing. And we aren’t too far from being beyond the point of no return.

No matter what you call it, their attempt to delegitimize political opposition is pure fascism. This contempt they show is for approximately half of their fellow citizens. This will end in violence.
