Three million registered Republicans did not vote in the last election. The pundits have different excuses reasons for this since the “fate of the republic” was said to be hanging in the balance: project Orca collapsed, apathy, religion or any of a myriad of reasons. The ten million registered Democrats who did not vote are rarely mentioned. But let’s look at this comment from the above video:
They lost because they shafted RON PAUL… if they adopted his principles and welcomed his supporters to work as one… they would have won… but why even have Democrats / republicans govern the United States?.. abolish both parties and let the people govern themselves through each individual states… after all “We are the United States”..
I had two “issues” with the Republican party in the past election cycle:
1. They never addressed the issues that were important and needed to be discussed. Some positions were just assumed: Romney would support Israel and Obama would not. Some positions were made up by the Democrats (the gender gap, Romney was a felon) and Romney did not see that they were resonating with the electorate so they were ignored. What should have been the issues? The same ones that are now being discussed after the election: the fiscal cliff, UN Treaties, gun control, taxes and Benghazi.
It appears that “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” applies to elections by both parties.
2. The Republican Convention in Tampa was a disgrace. The Tea Party was abandoned and their efforts in the 2010 and current elections were not even mentioned. Ron Paul’s name could not be spoken from the podium. Rules were changed concerning the ballot process by kidnapping a bus of delegates until the vote was over. This ensured that Romney would be the only candidate on the first ballot. Honor or arrogance?
The dust has now settled and the consequences are starting to manifest. The stock market has lost 675 points in six trading sessions since the election. Massive layoff announcements are coming out across the country, retail sales are down (due to food and gas prices), unemployment is skyrocketing, taxes will go up in January and Obama’s arrogance with Congress and now even the press is unmatched (except by other Communist dictators).
Our course is set and every man and woman must act according to their faith and morality. Isn’t that the way it should be anyway? The length of time that our “bondage” will last is dependent only on the people. Santa Claus may have bought an election but Liberty can never be given: it must be fought for or it will not be held dear.
“Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigues of supporting it.”
“What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: ’tis dearness only that gives everything its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated.”
