If you are doing the work of the Lord, it comes at a price. Evil will attack and mislead you. Why do you think that the Apostle’s prayer states:
Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
The prayer of Jabez asks for the same protection:
And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
Some people sent to mislead us think they are trying to help us. How do we know the difference? The answer is simple:
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Since we are now surrounded by evil, what do you think evil is doing to the righteous? Don’t be misled, pray for guidance and do the work that the Lord has intended for you. Or you will face some hard questions on Judgment Day. If you let evil in, you will succumb: put on the armor of God for protection.

Amen!
And some people sent to lead us will Act as though they are trying to help us..
At some point even the righteous will be deceived…
I agree. Which is why the above prayers ask the Lord to keep evil away from us. I believe that our nation’s early success was due to multiple righteous leaders who understood morality and virtue. Judgment Day was more important than greed and power.
So whom do we trust now? The first step is to qualify which traits are necessary to earn your trust. Sacred honor is in short supply but honor must be earned. Like trust must be earned.
I must admit that my list of people whom I trust is short. The stakes are too high at this point to freely give away your trust (or any other criteria) to people. Deception has always worked for evil to gain a foothold. We have no reason to not learn from the past.
