The President is the leader of the government….the government is charged with serving justice; it does not bear the sword in vain. Mrs. Kirk is a new widow, not charged with serving justice. You justice and forgiveness; a balance. I don’t see a problem with it; if the murder repents you forgive but still execute justice, and if the murderer is truly repentant he will accept his sentence, knowing, like the thief on the cross, that one day he will be with the Lord in paradise. If he does not accept his sentence, he is likely unrepentant; he just doesn’t want the consequences of his error.
There is also the man/woman thing. Has no one ever heard the words “wait until your father gets home?”.
“Dad’s home, and he’s pissed.”
— T. Carlson
Agreed
I could not forgive the killer until he repented and admitted his sin. But I would still seek justice for the crime committed. We are not going to see any justice until we the people stand up and get it for ourselves, just my opinion.
I agree with the first two sentences.
What we have is what we should have; the people not seeking vengeance and the government dealing out justice. What we are coming out of was the opposite, where the government just let people do what they wanted without consequences, and the people went full vigilante. I would rather have it this way. Don’t become what you hate.
How many “cheeks” does a Christian have to turn?
We’ve “turned the cheek” so many times that some of us resemble the girl in “The Omen,” who screwed her head around 360º.
It’s not a good look.
Wasn’t the grand show for Charlie Kirk a bit over the top? Don’t get me wrong, I very much thought Charlie was doing wonderful work. But when is the last time we saw such a spectacle for anyone? Who was Charlie? A man with a message for sure, a very positive message. But does speaking to college kids rate the Prez, VP and so many others of such high stature? A completely full stadium? Wall to wall coverage? In my 60 some years I have never seen such a send off. As the ridiculous official story line continues to fall apart, Something else is going on here.
You are correct!
Every commentator, pundit, news agency and website–all–are gaslighting the heck out of us, speculating on the freak’s “possible motives.”
Meanwhile, ballistics experts have shown on video that the kill shot likely came from above and to the right of Charlie’s position. Meaning, behind him.
Which, alone, would prove that–whatever the freak was doing (patsy?)–he did not fire the kill shot from 200 yds in front.
It’s Las Vegas Mandalay Bay all over again…..
If Charlie’s memorial service triggers an ongoing robust Christian revival – which so far seems to be the case – then the organizers did exactly the right thing.
Forgiveness acknowledges the wrong done to you and does not let hate eat you up psychologically. Storing up hate and supposed wrongs against you is how the left operates and is why they can kill someone who hasn’t actually offended them. Erika embodied true Christian faith while Trump showed the role of government, set up by God, to enact justice. These principles are exactly what our Republic was founded on.
Absolutely!!
