A Message to Ray Concerning Comments

As I have stated in the past, comments are posted using a third party algorithm. This means that the comment may be posted immediately without moderation, put in pending for approval or put into trash based upon the whims of the application.

At 12:50 AM last night, a comment was posted by Ray from the great state of Alabama concerning my assertion that masks are a preventative measure from catching or spreading COV-19 in this pandemic. Since the comment was not posted immediately, Ray then sent another post attacking my character and my “censorship” of comments. Ray is now blacklisted, not for having an opposing opinion, but for throwing a temper tantrum.

Why post this? We are in a war. If people cannot understand our position and what we need to do now, would you trust them to have your back in the future?

Good point . And I don’t want an ego or a dog so easily bruised it bites a friend .

Ref Ray: you can do whatever you want blacklist kick out whatever. But we have a right to disagree with you and I whole heartily disagree regarding mask. There is plenty of info out there with real studies that show wearing a mask can be bad for a healthy person. It’s like quarantine the healthy. You should only quarantine the sick and only the sick should wear a mask while in public. I refuse to wear a mask because that’s my line. Next will be you’re required to wear whatever the powers to be say. I’m for freedom and liberty to decide what I want to do with all the facts at hand. I’m capable of figuring it out I’m 63 and my dad died 20 years ago along with my mother and I don’t need another one. They both armed me with intelligence to figure it out on my own.

I never said anyone was blacklisted for disagreeing with me. This site is meant to provide discussion and opposing viewpoints based on facts. Opinions are also acceptable if they are presented with an open mind and without character attacks. What is not acceptable is being cursed out because a comment was not approved at 1:00 AM in the morning within 8 minutes of its submission.

Again, you need to clarify the type of masks that you are referring to. I think we both agree a cloth mask or a dust cover mask are worthless which real studies have shown. These same studies show that a mask worn correctly that is made for protecting the user from infection are effective. Your reference to quarantining people is correct under normal circumstances. In the case of SARS-CoV-2, infected people are shedding the virus while being asymptomatic (27 days for the initial strain is the record). The correct mask protects you and other individuals in this pandemic.

Good to hear that your parents armed you to figure it out on your own. I wish more people would do the same. So let me ask you how you feel about people attacking other people because they did not figure it out on their own and accepted bad reports as fact? I choose to wear an appropriate mask under appropriate circumstances which is about 15 minutes a week. Does that sound like a reasonable course of action? Does that sound like I want to force people to wear cloth masks 24/7?

I’ve presented opposing videos on mask from another YouTube. I never accused you of making someone wear a mask but you couldn’t do that anyway. There is too too much miss info out there. This virus is no worse than regular flu. This is an attempt to change all we have to a new green deal. It’s propaganda. Look up Martin Armstrong who has a behind the curtain view for this. He is well connected when it comes to the economy. Your right our arguments or disagreements should never be personal that’s part of the problem. We can disagree and I do disagree with you on this. This virus is fake it’s just a bad flu. I draw the line at wearing a mask. Thanks for your reply I wish you the best.

        • David says:

I disagree with your assessment that this is no worse than the regular flu. However, I agree that this pandemic has been used to the governments’ advantage around the world.

          • Gary says:

There are several studies out there that will show this virus is no worse than the regular flu New England journal of medicine Fauci wrote an article that this covid-19 will be no worse than the regular flu with a .01 rate of infection I believe he wrote that in March 2020. Just recently he has come out and stated locking down everyone was the wron g thing to do. I will find on the cdc website where recently they have reported the virus in age group 0-49 it has a .03 rate and age 49 to 65 has a .05 infection rate. You can disagree about the virus having a high infection rate but the stats don’t back up your argument. The virus is regular flu ,period. Good argument. I will post cdc stats when I find the. I will also say I know a gentleman here in Nevada who had a stroke at 89 went into the hospital contracted covid died and they listed the death as covid. The family was pissed guess why they did that? For $13,000 a guarantee from the government through the cares act.

“This virus is no worse than regular flu.”
See, THIS is an example of misinformation, or perhaps just a conscious lie… I cannot imagine anyone still peddling this crap. 96,000 people have died FROM this disease IN THIS COUNTRY just since the beginning of March. Tomorrow, Memorial Day, this country will exceed 100,000 deaths. Now, I’m not saying this to change your mind, @Gary, as I know this is clearly not an option. I’m saying this for anyone else who may see what you have said, what you have posted, and might actually be inclined to believe that pablum without verifying for themselves the truth.

You may not be keeping score of how reckless with your life and more especially with the lives of others you are being. Kind of like a habitual drunk driver. But that score is being kept, nonetheless.

        • David says:

From articles cited in this paper:
Conclusions: Face mask use in health care workers has not been demonstrated to provide benefit in terms of cold symptoms or getting colds. A larger study is needed to definitively establish noninferiority of no mask use.

Sample size: 2 groups of 16. The sample size is too small to be significant. Only 1 person in each group had a cold. This study used surgical masks and was not concerned with coronavirus.

          Second cited paper:
Summary: There is some evidence to support the wearing of masks or respirators during illness to protect others, and public health emphasis on mask wearing during illness may help to reduce influenza virus transmission.

          Third cited paper:
Eight of nine retrospective observational studies found that mask and ⁄ or respirator use was independently associated with a reduced risk of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).

          Fourth cited paper:
Although N95 respirators appeared to have a protective advantage over surgical masks in laboratory settings, our meta-analysis showed that there were insufficient data to determine definitively whether N95 respirators are superior to surgical masks in protecting health care workers against transmissible acute respiratory infections in clinical settings.

Transmission of acute respiratory infections occurs primarily by contact and droplet routes, and accordingly, the use of a surgical mask, eye protection, gown and gloves should be considered appropriate personal protective equipment when providing routine care for a patient with a transmissible acute respiratory infection.

          Fifth cited paper:
Conclusion: The use of N95 respirators compared with surgical masks is not associated with a lower risk of laboratory-confirmed influenza. It suggests that N95 respirators should not be recommended for general public and non high-risk medical staff those are not in close contact with influenza patients or suspected patients.

This was another study to determine whether a surgical mask was more effective than an N95 respirator.

I see nothing that states wearing a mask does not give any protection for contracting a SARS virus.

So, this should probably just about cover my thoughts on Gary’s comment: https://raconteurreport.blogspot.com/2020/05/live-by-celebrity-jackhole-die-by.html

  3. Gary says:

Not sure this went through. Mask. https://youtu.be/cQp8b3bxSVw

  4. MMinimalmed (@AskDrLey) says:

The average mask will not filter out individual viral particles but it sure can stop an aerosolized piece of lint/saliva/snot/virus from making its way in

    • David says:

A 0.3 micron HEPA filter mask will filter a 0.125 micron SARS-CoV-2 virus if it is a droplet and probably if it is aerosolized.
