Technically, President GHW Bush’s “lie” wasn’t really a lie, it was a broken promise. (The difference is the element of premeditation.)
Also, President GW Bush didn’t lie at all:
http://www.mooregop.org/WMDs_the_rest_of_the_story.html
“If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction program.”
-- President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998
“He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983.”
-- Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998
“Iraq’s search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power.”
-- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002
“We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction.”
-- Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA), Sept. 27, 2002
“Assertions that the Bush administration strong-armed intelligence analysts in 2002 and 2003, or misled the nation in making its nuclear case for war, challenge logic. During and after Clinton’s presidency, the intelligence community repeatedly warned the White House that Iraq was one cache of fissile material and one year short of wielding a nuclear bomb. If the White House manipulated or exaggerated that intelligence before the war in order to paint a more-menacing portrait of Saddam Hussein, it’s difficult to imagine why. For five years, the official and oft-delivered alarms from the U.S. intelligence community had been menacing enough.”

I wrote, “Technically, President GHW Bush’s “lie” wasn’t really a lie, it was a broken promise. (The difference is the element of premeditation.)”
Remember that the Democrats blackmailed Bush 41 into breaking that “no new taxes” promise. After Iraq invaded Kuwait, the Democrats held the Gulf War effort hostage to blackmail President Bush into breaking his tax pledge.
Then, after they succeeded, they & their press allies crucified him over it.
Nuclear material was found in Iraq after the war and was transported to Canada to be store and taken care of. It was kept in northern Iraq until it taken out of country. It wasn’t released to the press due the fact that the US And British needed trace it back to where it came from. No there wasn’t any WMD but there was material to was gone to be used to make a one.
Iraq DID have WMD’s….nerve gas. Which Hussein openly used on his own subjects.
GWBush was NOT lying.
The definition of weapons of mass destruction was never defined. Just like fair share is never quantified, other than more.
I agree that nerve gas used by a government on its own people is WMD. Kind of like Waco.
They didn’t use nerve gas at Waco.
Our government used CS gas at Waco. The fire turned this into cyanide gas which is what killed the people, not the fire. But I suggest people do their own research: CS gas Waco Branch Davidians would be a good set for search parameters.
Wrong. Smoke inhalation is deadly, but tear gas does not “turn into cyanide gas,” and tear gas is not a WMD.
People can either do their own research or not. It is well documented that our government used CS gas which turned into cyanide. But if you do not want to do your own research as I outlined above, that is your option.
Invented in 1928, CS is called a “super tear gas” because it works instantaneously, causing burning eyes, coughing, breathing difficulty, stinging skin, and vomiting. CS — the common name for orthochlorbenzalmalononitrile — is a fine white powder, about the consistency of talcum powder, and it must be spread with some type of dispersing agent. But it has several nasty qualities, including its flammability. When burned, CS releases a deadly gas, hydrogen cyanide. And when methylene chloride — the dispersing agent of choice — is burned, it releases deadly hydrogen chloride and chlorine. Both chemicals, in turn, release large amounts of carbon monoxide. According to the Failure Analysis report, 44 of the 76 bodies recovered from Mount Carmel tested positive for cyanide. And according to the coroner’s report, a quarter of the deaths at Mount Carmel [Waco] were caused by carbon monoxide asphyxiation, while another 27% died of smoke inhalation.
Despite its potential drawbacks, CS had many of the advantages that the Army wanted. And in 1959, it adopted CS as its standard riot-control agent. But the Army has long been aware of its potential deadliness, particularly when used in enclosed spaces. One 1985 Army manual warns that CS “is not to be used in buildings, near hospitals, or in areas where lingering contamination could cause problems.” In 1995, the Los Angeles Times quoted a spokesman for Federal Laboratories Inc., a company that makes CS gas, who explained that CS is designed for use in a large, open area. “If you were to shoot too much in a building or enclosed area, you could suffocate individuals,” the spokesperson said.

You’re talking about negligible trace amounts. The dose makes the poison. “Deadly” gasses are only dangerous in sufficient quantity. Breathe too much of almost anything, and it will kill you.
E.g., hydrogen chloride gas, when it comes into contact with moisture, turns into hydrochloric acid, which sounds nasty, and is — in sufficient quantity. But it’s also the acid that your stomach uses to help you digest food. I once got a good whiff of hydrogen chloride gas. It was very unpleasant, and I coughed a lot. But I suffered no lasting effects.
Carbon monoxide is produced in large quantities by any fire which burns organic material without a surplus of oxygen, which basically means any fire outside of a controlled burner.
When you burn buildings, with or without tear gas, you get lots of noxious fumes. The large amounts of paints, varnishes, glues, wiring insulation, other plastics, textiles, etc. in a modern burning building produce far more dangerous fumes than you could possibly get from the minute traces of byproducts of burning negligible amounts tear gas residue. Here’s a relevant link:

The Clinton/Reno Waco massacre was a hideous crime, but it did not involve the use of “nerve gas,” or “cyanide gas,” or any other WMDs. When you burn buildings with people in them, people die. WMDs are not necessary. Nobody died from poison gas or any other WMD at Waco.
A great example of a straw man argument. I will go with the coroner’s report instead of your “line of reasoning”.

Does the owner of this site have no shame!!!!
The intent of the list was to dishonestly sweep Bush’s lies under the table, and hype Obama’s.
Let’s pretend Bush never made 232 false claims about Iraq…
