There are almost three million fedgov employees, not counting the military. There are more than SIX times that number lining their pockets at the expense of states, counties and local governments. As Americans we would do well to push these bodies to sweep out the dead wood also. Enough is enough!

Joni Ernst is and will be one of the Trump administration’s biggest obstructionist thorns. She has betrayed her constituency and all of America for years in the senate and enough is enough. Iowans MUST primary Ernst out of office in 2026. I ran a mess of meat markets in thirty years. Not because I liked relocating and starting over, but because you get hired in a shop because the former meat manager was failing and got fired. You go in and fix it and soon enough it goes from being one of the worst to one of the best in the company. So then they want you to go in and fix another failing shop. When you go into a really bad meat market there is usually a huge morale problem and there is usually 2 or 3 team members causing the morale problem with bad attitudes, poor performance, laziness and a long history of screwing over the company and others in the department. You go into the new shop, identify your “problem children” and begin progressive discipline. Usually by the time you get rid of the second loser, the rest of the team falls completely in line, and anyone remaining that was part of the problem has decided to perform at a higher level. Amazing. MAGA’s must make it clear to all elected officials that their malfeasance will not be overlooked.

Same as in construction. You go in as the new boss and identify the problems and get rid of them. Can’t identify any? Sorry, random dude, your services are no longer needed. Harsh? Damn right. Effective? Yep. As for morale? I could get my guys to do more work for me by buying a couple 12 packs of cheap beer and pizzas for them after hours than by promising each of them an extra $100 at the end of the day. I’d hear them on the radio talking to each other as they were about to finish up — “Bud” “Wise” “Errrr!” Pop a top with them in the break area after the day is over, take a few sips and listen to them, then excuse yourself. They see it as the new boss is one of us! He’ll drink beer with us and listen to what we have to say. Goes a long ways for future morale building.
Every one of those government workers will tell you to your face that THEIR department is essential and everything will come to a halt without them. They will tell you that it is that OTHER department that is a bunch of worthless dead weight. Elon has his work cut out for him. I’m available if he needs any help.

The musk/ravi $2 trillion cut in the federal budget is merely scratching the surface. But it is a welcome start.
