FEMA Has Become A Political Tool

The Obama administration has transformed the Department of Justice, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco , Firearms and Explosives and now FEMA. First, the wildfires in Texas were ignored for several months as retribution by the political thug who fancies himself president. Today, the president declares “a major disaster” for Iowa: over a month after the actual flooding occurred.

When votes counts, federal disaster aid is only minutes away: just ask the blue states impacted by tropical storm Irene. What is worse, the government’s actions against the people or that we allow it to continue?

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced that federal disaster aid has been made available to Iowa and ordered federal aid to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area struck by severe storms and flooding during the period of July 27-29, 2011.

Federal funding is available to state and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the flooding in the counties of Dubuque and Jackson.

Federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures statewide.

Michael R. Scott has been named as the Federal Coordinating Officer for federal recovery operations in the affected area.  Scott said that additional designations may be made at a later date if requested by the state and warranted by the results of further damage assessments.
