Flight Restrictions Over Fort Calhoun Nuclear Plant and Cooper Nuclear Station Are Still In Place

The Federal Aviation Administration issued a temporary flight restriction over the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Plant until further notice due to “Hazards” on June 6, 2011. On June 7, 2011, the FAA issued the same restriction over the Cooper Nuclear Station.

It is now two months later and these restrictions are still in place. While the FAA has a different opinion of “temporary” than the average person, what hazardous conditions are still impacting these facilities?
