Lesson learned. 6/13/2011 had a fire in my forest. 15,000 acres, 500 homes, 2 people. Followed closely by flash flooding from burn scars. Nothing major just a run of the mill disaster. YOU ARE THE FIRST RESPONDER. I had good and bad help but, in the end, it was up to me. Not to make light of this hurricane flooding but this was localized, and you have seen the botched federal response. Imagine a New Madrid quake or Lassen Peak eruption and there will be no one coming. Be prepared was a motto of my childhood and have been good words to live by. You need to be ready both mentally, physically and above all spiritually to be able to make it.

Have you also seen the other storms across the world, Spain etc.. including tornadoes in Oklahoma?

Hey preppers! New Madrid Fault Line. 2 small earthquakes near the fault line. One in Missouri and the other just inside Tennessee. Both shallow. Small, but large enough to be on the USGS latest earthquake map.
