A prominent Harvard Law School professor is calling for a ban on homeschooling stating that it is dangerous for children to be left with their parents 24/7 and to have authoritarian control over them.
In an article by Erin O’Donnell titled The Risks of Homeschooling, O’Donnell outlines Elizabeth Bartholet, Wasserstein public interest professor of law and faculty director of the Law School’s Child Advocacy Program at Harvard’s take on how dangerous it is to allow parents to educate their own children. Bartholet not only insists that homeschooling deprives children of their right to a “meaningful education,” but that it also violates their “right to be protected from potential child abuse” and keeps them from “contributing positively to a democratic society.”
My wife used to work in an Education Department at a major research university. These professors are total quacks with agendas that run a hundred miles Left. They are frauds and need to be treated that way.
God forbid we parents teach our own kids what’s right and wrong instead of their socialist agenda indoctrination…BASTARDS!
I have homeschooled all four of my children. After my oldest was homeschooled for six months, he returned to public school for a couple of years and his grades and attitude about school drastically dropped and changed. So please explain to me how the schools do a better job in teaching children when the parents of the children know their child better and can give them individual attention to their studies when a teacher in a class of 25 to 30 cannot. The only thing homeschool does not allow for is the social interaction that can be vital when becoming adults in order for them to learn to deal with rude and idiotic people that sadly exist in this world.
