Hillary Clinton assertion that Russian is supplying attack helicopters to Syria has been denied by Russia. Now, US intelligence agencies have agreed with Russia and “contradicted” the Secretary of State. Really. The Secretary of State is making baseless accusations against Russia in what could lead to an escalation of war without checking with intelligence agencies? Here are some possibilities:
1. Russia is shipping attack helicopters to Syria and US intelligence offices are trying to cover it up. This scenario implies a conspiracy to expedite the civil war in Syria.
2. Intelligence agencies were not consulted by the State Department prior to making their accusations. Since the ramifications of the consequences are significant, this is not possible.
3. Hillary was set up. If this is true, it could be payback for Bill Clinton’s recent statements against the administration and his support for Romney. In this case, Hillary’s reign will be coming to an end and her chances of running for president in 2016 have been eliminated.
It is possible that options 1 and 3 together can be considered. One thing is certain: our Department of State has no credibility in the eyes of the world’s leaders.

US Intel corrects Clinton: Russia is not sending Assad new helicopters
DEBKAfile June 14, 2012, 8:43 AM (GMT+02:00)
In a bid to cool the escalating war of words between the US and Russia and their two top foreign executives Hillary Clinton and Sergey Lavrov, US intelligence circles put the record straight on their mutual charges: They contradicted Clinton’s accusation that Russia was sending attack helicopters to Assad for use against civilians; Moscow was only returning damaged choppers after repairs, they reported, going on to admit American arms were being supplied to Syrian rebels through third countries in the Gulf – spelled out by our military sources as anti-tank missiles via Qatar and the UAE – as first disclosed by DEBKAfile on May 21.
