We live in a culture where basic tenets have been redefined. The majority of people in the United States would classify themselves as Christian but do not follow the Bible’s basic tenets. Liberty is an illusive concept confused with freedom. Our military and federal officials have sworn an oath of allegiance to defend the Constitution but the reality is that our “leaders” have become the domestic enemies of whom we were warned. Morality, virtue and courage cannot be defined by most people which is the ultimate redefinition.
Let’s consider the essence of our country’s foundation: public virtue:
A cornerstone of good citizenship in republican states, public virtue involved the subordination of individual self‑interest to serving the greater good of the whole community. Revolutionary leaders believed that public virtue was essential for a republic to survive and thrive. If absent, governments would be torn apart by competing private interests and succumb to anarchy, at which point tyrants would emerge to offer political stability but with the loss of dearly won political liberties.
Public virtue has not been redefined: it has become forgotten.
And then there is the concept of hope. Our pResident based his first campaign on hope and change. As we now know, this “fundamental transformation” of our country’s hope is self-evident. The information below shows the consequences of succumbing to personal interests instead of “serving the greater good of the whole community“. Which leads us to the greatest redefinition: community organizer.
There is hope for people who understand our original basic tenets including public virtue. The price to regain our “dearly won political liberties” for our children will be as high as the price paid by our founding fathers.

Census on Obama’s 1st Term: Real Median Income Down $2,627; People in Poverty Up 6,667,000
During the four years that marked President Barack Obama’s first term in office, the real median income of American households dropped by $2,627 and the number of people in poverty increased by approximately 6,667,000, according to data released today by the Census Bureau.
The record total of approximately 46,496,000 people in the United States who are now in poverty, according to the Census Bureau, is more than twice the population of Syria, which, according to the CIA, has 22,457,336 people.
In 2008, the year Obama was elected, real median household income in the United States was $53,644 according to the Census Bureau. In 2012, the last full year of Obama’s first term, median household income was $51,017. Thus, real median household income dropped $2,627—or 4.89 percent—from 2008 to 2012.
Public virtue has not been redefined: it has become forgotten.
Much worse than merely forgotten. It was derided, mocked, scorned, snickered about, etc, until it crawled away to hide in a closet. Remember the Boy Scouts of 60 years ago? They were actually used to help the community and being in the Boy Scouts was looked on with honor. Now? They are mocked and publicly derided as being ‘out of touch with reality’/homophobic, etc.
The Bible talks about good being called evil and evil being called good. We’re not totally at that point right now, but we are rapidly approaching that point. Remember when everyone was a patriot and being called a patriot didn’t have you put on a list?
