Slight shortages here in Panhandle Florida, but prices are up about 20% over this time last year in most everything, on average.
We had several meat selling local farm-ranchers who would come to our Farmers’ Market. They don’t come now because they are selling out at Farmers Markets closer to their homes. Prices were definitely a quarter more than local grocery, but the freshness, grass fed/organic nature of their business made it possible for them to continue. With higher prices in grocery their prices are not much higher, so now they are selling out faster.
T’was really good beef. Hope they will return…
SE Michigan -- Pretty well stocked. Less choices of similar products, though.

In NW Ohio we’re seeing shortages and empty shelves in food, paper and pet products. We’ve been experiencing shortages in the big box and smaller IGA type for the past 6-months and that encompasses a large area from Jackson, MI to Ft. Wayne, IN, Dayton, OH to Toledo, OH. Eggs, meat, cold cuts and brats, butter and cheese, as well as cream cheese have taken a week to 10 days to replenish. Sam’s Club has had shortages of paper towels and TP in some cases 2-weeks to replenish. Canned cat and dog food is hit or miss and we’ve seen dry dog food go empty a week at a time. Farm feed is available if you can afford the increases. We no longer plan our shopping at one store as our typical outing will include 4-6 to compensate for the shortages…Walmart to Meijers to Aldis to Sam’s to Costco to Rural King to Tractor Supply is now a typical shopping day. Our typical shopping list will have 4-5 items that we cant find.
I have a good relationship with our local Walmart Manager who said the policy of Wally is to pull from the rural stores to maintain higher levels in the larger cities. She was irritated by this policy stating my store can go without so we wont have riots in the cities. She also said Sunday nights used to be focused on restocking, now they spend that time re-pricing! She asked if I noticed the aisles were wider and did it feel there was more product?
A follow-up: We went to our local Wally Super Store last night and they had NO: eggs, very little cheese and dairy, yogurt, limited luncheon meats, 5 bags of dry dog food, 40 cans of cat food, only 20 bottles of creamer, no salad bags and huge sign stating we are out of salad and dont know when more will arrive, limited breads, limited canned soup, 5 boxes of pasta, no Wally brand spaghetti sauces, limited teas and coffees, just to mane a few.

Here in Kansas City, I do all of my grocery shopping online, so I don’t see the actual shelves. However, the available items online have become more and more limited over the last six weeks. Fresh fruit is extremely limited, and what they have is poor quality. Vegetable selection/inventory is also limited. It’s pretty sad when you can’t buy a one pound package of carrots. Thankfully they had the less popular two pound package. Meats are also a limited selection. Prices are way up overall.
Canned foods are limited, and you may have to settle for a non-preferred brand. Household items such as laundry and cleaning supplies also.
I did go to Dollar General about 10 days ago to buy birthday cards. There were a lot of poorly stocked shelves, and a surprising number of empty shelves.
With the looming trucking related regulations going into effect in less than two weeks, I have a very bad feeling about where this is headed. This could be the straw that breaks the camel’s back with the supply chain.
SE AZ/SW NM The Wal-Mart has constantly empty blocks of shelves. I rarely shop there. Same to a lesser degree in Safeway. Some items are hard to find. I make over 1/2 of my dog food and purchase from a small group of organic meat producers, “Organic Prairie”, so far, no problem there. I supplement with “The Farmer’s Dog” and “Nom Nom” and they have so far been able to ship on time. I feed “The Honest Kitchen” dry and they are consistently out of just about everything. I have a well stocked pantry of non perishable items for myself/dogs as do most people in this community and we have organic produce produced within the community plus eggs from free range chickens feed certified organic/non GMO feed and garden goodies. Not sure how long I will be able to get their feed so we are stocking up. I decided to include names to help pet owners here. I purchase fish from Vital Choice” and so far, no issues. Hope this helps.

Mostly OK around here.
The foot of snow wiped out the bread and milk and other stuff last week as usual. I heard that Boston TV called it Snowmagedden.
The stores lost power for three days, as did we, so anything refrigerated was tossed. Made for some big holes.
Other than that things are mostly normal. Maybe a little less choice of brands.

Northern coastal NC. Not much problem here. Only 2 things are the cheaper pet food, the high priced pet food is still here which I must now buy, and for the last month or so the frozen breakfast biscuits and other things such as the Jimmy Dean brand are usually gone. Other than that I would see no difference than in a year ago except of course for the prices.

No store I go to has what I would call pre-pandemic level stocking. Many are missing items I literally cannot find anywhere (e.g., my kids favorite box juice). Many shelves are front-row only, hiding the empty space behind and on Sunday the chicken in the meat department was all but denuded.
