Here is the government’s solution to extending food stamps issued during the government shutdown:
Because of the federal shutdown, the U.S. Department of Agriculture has instructed states to issue February’s Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) benefits by Sunday, Jan. 20. Benefits would normally be available to families between the 3rd and 21st of February.
“We are working closely with county departments of social services and our federal partners to ensure participants and retailers have little to no interruption of FNS services due to the shutdown,” said Tara Myers, NCDHHS Deputy Secretary for Human Services.
FNS is a federal food assistance program that provides low-income families with funds to purchase food needed for a nutritional, adequate diet. Once February’s FNS funds are distributed, they will be available for use. However, participants should be aware that since there will be no FNS benefits issued in the month of February, they should plan accordingly.
If recipients do not “budget” their assistance properly, they will run out of food about the middle of February. No additional assistance will be given until the government shutdown is resolved.
Make no mistake: the Democrats plan to starve their constituents in order to secure their power and their voting block in the next election. The longer the shutdown goes on, the more political capital they will receive. We all know how this will end.

In one release that I read they also referred SNAP recipients to contact local food banks. I volunteer at at food bank in a mostly rural county here in NC. They have served 1000-1200 families each month with a monthly allotment of food and other supplies and approximately 600 children each week through a back pack program for kids that may not get enough to eat over the weekend.
The great Trump economy is a sham at least for those on the bottom. The food bank is now serving over 1400 families each month and 700 kids each weekend. While the top gets richer playing the market’s waves those on the bottom get poorer. Herbert Stein said, ” If something cannot go on forever, it will stop.” We are quickly approaching dead stop.
I spoke with a couple of the food bank managers today and told them that the increase we have been seeing may soon become a flood of new potential clients. We have a hard time meeting the current increase for as the need has grown donations are not keeping up. As a faith based food bank with little to no government assistance the policy has been to not turn anyone away in need.
Folks this has the potential to get ugly real quick. Hungry people will do desperate things. Multiply that ten fold for people with hungry children. I feared this situation was inevitable sooner or later, but I never contemplated the weaponization of hunger.
The progs do not care about immigrants. They do not care about the citizens who lose their lives to illegals. They do not care about citizens struggling to feed their families. They only do not want the wall because President Trump ran on that issue and they hate him. The only thing they hate more is you toothless morons who voted for him. They want you silenced and replaced. If that means you have to die so much the better.
Accept that as the truth then prepare and pray. Strengthen your faith as you harden your heart for the coming storm. It cannot be stopped.

The only people I have seen use their snap cards are not starving. Example: neighbors son and wife sell theirs to buy drugs, others I see up front and personal are buying king crab legs, bubble gum and cigarettes etc. Does that sound like starving?
