Rep. Ilhan Omar is asking God to forgive President Trump for mocking her in a speech to a prominent Jewish Republican group.
Trump took a dig at the freshman congresswoman at the Republican Jewish Coalition’s annual meeting in Las Vegas on Saturday, sarcastically saying, “Special thanks to Rep. Omar of Minnesota.”
“Oh, I forgot. She doesn’t like Israel,” Trump said. “I forgot. I’m so sorry.”
The comment came a day after prosecutors charged a man for calling in a death threat to the Democratic lawmaker’s Washington, DC, office in March.
Omar quoted a tweet that read: “On the same day that one of his fans was charged with plotting to murder her, President Trump gratuitously attacks Ilhan Omar.”
