People are waking up. At least in my experience they seem to be. Yesterday I sat in the cafeteria with three public school teachers. I was reading the Max Velocity book Contact! A Tactical Manual for Post Collapse Survival.
One of the teachers asked what I was reading. I showed her the cover. She asked me if I was a ‘doomsdayer’. I responded that I was not, but that I did believe that TEOTWAWKI is coming. She then immediately asked me to define my terms. I simply pointed out that any student of history and economics can clearly see that what the governments of the world are doing is unsustainable and that the resulting collapse will be quite ugly.
She confirmed that she and her husband see a financial collapse coming, too. Another teacher chimed in and agreed. What followed was a lively conversation on the expected results of the insanity in Washington and other world capitals.
Today at a different school I had the same experience. Reading the same book at lunch caused two more teachers to confirm that they are wide awake. One said that if he’d seen what I was reading five years ago he’d have said I was crazy. But not now. I admitted to him that if I’d even considered reading such a book three years ago I would have agreed with him.
Good. Finally the American people seem to be awakening. A little late, maybe – and they will suffer more pain for their tardiness – but at least they’re finally stirring.
Part of the pain they, and we, will likely have to endure is war. Either war with our own government that both they and we appear to be prepping for, or war with foreign powers. DHS isn’t buying all that ammo and 7,000 select fire ‘personal defense weapons’ to sit and gather dust in a warehouse. They either expect to make war on We the People or they expect a foreign, boots on the ground, invasion.
Think I’m over-reacting? Well, at least I’m in good company. Seems like a lot of our top economic advisers see the same end result.
Damn Bob, you scarin the crap out of me dude,
Guess I better get even more supplies and defiantly more weapons and ammo,
And maybe some more good ol hand to hand combat training which is tough and more scary when you are 5 foot 7 and most guys could kick your butt without even trying . I mean I’m not a soldier ,
I’m not a big tough guy , but I feel I have to protect my family and property. What are people like me suppose to do?
Last Logic Standing -- I’m only 5’9″ and I’m 58 years old. I don’t have any combat training except for playing ‘army’ when I was a kid. I feel your pain. But like you, I have family and property to defend. Such cannot be accomplished by the faint of heart. We need to have enough of a foundation in our faith, however that expresses itself in our lives, to not live in a spirit of fear. A wise man once said, “Do the thing that you fear and the death of fear is certain.”
More weapons and ammo would be a prudent move. So too is reading up on small unit military tactics. I recommend ‘Contact! A Tactical Manual for Post Collapse Survival’ by Max Velocity and ‘Holding Your Ground: Preparing for Defense If It All Falls Apart’ by Joe Nobody. These are excellent sources despite the comic book pseudonyms of the authors.
Reach out to other family members, neighbors, and friends who you trust and with whom you can plan to ‘hunker down’ with when the time comes. There is strength in numbers.
Also, more food and a source or supply of fresh water, first aid supplies, etc.. Whatever remaining wealth we have should be moved into land, gold, silver, liquor, tobacco products, or other commodities. When ‘she’ falls, the cash, cash denominated ‘assets’, stocks, bonds, 401Ks, CDs, etc. will fall with ‘her’. The biblical admonition to ‘come out of her, my people’ comes to mind. Anyone still invested in the ‘system’ will lose it all (or at least most of it in a best case senario).
Hand to hand combat isn’t my ‘thing’, either. I rely on Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson for close quarter ‘debates’. That said, I also plan on carrying a large knife in the event that Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson lose the ability to speak on my behalf.
Keep the faith my brother. Darkness always comes before the dawn. You and I may not live to see that dawn in this life, but we have to fight the good fight so that our kids and grand kids do. I suspect the next life will offer us better, in any event.
Endeavor to persevere,
Bob
Thanks for your kind response sir, all the preparations and material you spoke of I have plenty of all. Im as ready as I possibly can be ,
You did give some great suggestions that I had not considered yet. Thank you for those
Again , my biggest concern, I won’t say fear is protecting those assets . I guess faith will play a very big part of that .
One things for sure , we are moving at breakneck speed toward the darkness you spoke of .
Thankfully our savior will return in the mist of that darkness and shine a light on this world like never before to cleanse all pain all tears all suffering , he will defeat death itself . He’s done it once he,ll do it again .
God bless and thanks again !!
