The J.M. Smucker Company issued a voluntary recall on Friday for select Jif peanut butter products that are sold in the United States because of potential Salmonella contamination.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, 14 people across 12 states have reported becoming sick after eating certain Jif peanut butter products, sending two people to the hospital.
The FDA states that Jif product lot code numbers 1274425 through 2140425 are affected by the recall and advises people in possession of those products to throw it away.
Lot code numbers can be found alongside the best-if-used-by date on Jif peanut butter products.

It appears that Smucker is not offering any compensation for this recall.

If you believe any of these recalls anymore,
than you’re the Smuck!
Watch, next week jelly will be recalled. They’ll ship the peanut butter and jelly to their underground holes.
Yet there is no recall for the vax
One of the disadvantages of being prepared and stocking up. I have six 40 ounce jars in the deep pantry and one which we have consumed over half the jar that according to their website the UPC code matches the recall numbers. In fact the jar we previously consumed probably was from the same lot. I will speak with my local grocery store to see if they are offering replacements at no cost. If I was not subscribed to N C Renegade I would probably never have realized that there was a recall.
My favorite peanut butter and yes I was sweating this when I first started reading about it here. Fortunately, my large supply of JIF crunchy is not under the recall. I hope you can get some reimbursement.
Sadly, Smucker’s bought out Laura Scudder’s All Natural Peanut Butter without the junk loaded into Jif and other brands. Hard to say if they will keep it natural and healthy. By the way, some of the peanut butter brands are not safe for dogs where real peanut butter is an excellent treat in moderation. I stocked up on a lot of large jars of Laura Scudder’s since you can no longer get it.
I know where there HQ is. I would be happy to drop off any recalled peanut butter to them personally.
Check my stash and we have 5 jars. Was on hold for 54 minutes with them and still could not get through. I might have to visit my parents and stop by their HQ and see if I can get a refund,
Take it back to the store. It worked for me at Ingles.
Just and FYI about the Schmucker Company. They do require the shot to work there. They do allow exemptions, but I believe the shot fools get preference.
