Rep. John Conyers has called Americans “to mass thousands of people in front of the White House to protest” the debt ceiling legislation. My response to Rep. Conyers is simple:
WELCOME TO THE TEA PARTY
Speaking out against this proposed legislation approved by “government leaders” is essential to our representative republic working as intended by our Constitution.
Here is the transcript of his comment:
I say that we’ve got to educate the American people at the same time we educate the President of the United States. Because the Republicans, Speaker Boehner or Majority Leader Cantor did not call for Social Security cuts in the budget deal. The President of the United States called for that. My response to him is to mass thousands of people in front of the White House to protest this.
Let’s hope that this epiphany of common sense continues and that he does not succumb to the ring of power in Washington as John McCain.
