Joshua Boston’s Letter to Dianne Feinstein

I have been asked to post Joshua Boston’s letter to Sen. Feinstein. I had not posted it previously since I felt it was getting the attention it deserved. Someone disagreed and maybe we should ensure as broad a distribute as possible.

Senator Dianne Feinstein,

I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government’s right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a crime. You ma’am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. I am a Marine Corps Veteran of 8 years, and I will not have some woman who proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I may not have one.

I am not your subject. I am the man who keeps you free. I am not your servant. I am the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I am the flesh and blood of America.

I am the man who fought for my country. I am the man who learned. I am an American. You will not tell me that I must register my semi-automatic AR-15 because of the actions of some evil man.

I will not be disarmed to suit the fear that has been established by the media and your misinformation campaign against the American public.

We, the people, deserve better than you.

This corporal says it all. Senator Feinstien wants control, she wants to be the person to control our lives and have the power of life and death. In this country it is the other way around. Her power comes from the people and our rights come from God. One of those rights is the power of self defense from government and from those who would harm us. That is why the 2nd Admendment was written and why if Senertor Feinstein persists a 2nd American Revolution will become neccessary.

Awesome letter, Senator Feinstien’s ideas are far fetched, going back to Nazi Germany, and we all know what happened there. I will not register my weapons either, Senator Feinstien can hug a root.

I must say, as a veteran myself, I fully agree and stand with Joshua. As brothers in arms, brothers in the military, no one knows the struggles we have all endured. We have lost families, friends, wives, husbands, and all honor in the US because of our decision to serve. We have been branded now as potential terrorist by the current leadership of this country. We are degraded in the media. We have given the most, Now we have a leadership that seeks to disarms us, and label us if we resist. And that same leadership has 24x7 paid for by us armed security. The live in a world that is separate from the world US citizens live in. Dianne Feinstein is a multi-millionaire, who has no concept of reality. We cannot afford 24x7 armed security, nor can we afford video cameras mounted and monitored all around our homes. We must secure our homes and families the cheapest way possible, that that avenue is our weapons ownership. Should Dianne take this away from us, she is not longer entitled to the security, the CCW permit, the cameras, and monitoring. She should live just like us, in a middle class neighborhood, that is filled with crime from the very people who voted for her. It’s time she stepped down from her castle and behaved like a real American.

I am a Police Officer and a member of the Oath Keepers and will not enforce or support any law that is unconstitutional, requiring me to confiscate or search for personal property.

Eloquent, yet concise and to the point. Courageous with determination to uphold the freedoms laid down in our constitution, a quality lacking in too many people these recent years. Cpl Boston, you could not have said it better. God bless you, and thank you for sacrificing your own time and comfort to defend those of us who yearn to remain a free people. My gratitude is boundless.

I’m wondering what kind of a joke you’ll think it is when your weapon of choice has been confiscated and you are unable to defend yourself against someone who will arm himself outside of the law and then aim a weapon at you.

It has been said many times, “When guns are illegal, only criminals will have guns”. Fear of the unknown hampers the criminal. Criminals don’t care about laws and they will get guns. I want a gun to protect myself and family against the crazed lunatics who abuse guns.

It feels a bit unreasonable to me that you would be so strongly against the idea of registering your guns. The second amendment doesn’t say that you can have unbridled access to all guns at all times at all places without restraint. -And I happen to believe that other citizens have the right to live in a place where access to lethal weapons is regulated.

I see no reason why law abiding citizens who would oppose registering guns and submitting to background checks. In the interest of public safety, we all benefit when the government can track and control firearms access.

Finally, I find it inappropriate and dishonorable that Mr. Boston would try to use his position as a member of the military as a reason to not comply with gun regulations. When you return to civilian life, you are a civilian and subject to civilian laws. We all fully support the military and are extraordinarily grateful for their service, but the military personnel are just as vulnerable to mental episodes as other Americans.

We need to have an honest discussion in this country about the second amendment, and what it should mean to our people. Technology has increased the power of firearms beyond what was likely envisioned by our founders, and it necessitates a national conversation. The majority of Americans now support regulation of gun ownership in the interest of public safety, and the will of the people should be done, whatever the case.

You realize of course that the Second Amendment was incorporated within our Constitution to give the citizen protection not only from home invasion but also to protect against a tyrannical government which would seek to remove the freedom and liberty of the citizenry (as we now see taking place).

I understand your liberal views prevent you from fully understanding the intent of U.S. Constitution and it is true that you will never hear the words “Armed Resistance” from a politician but if you take a look at the Constitution; the Federalist Papers and the writings of Thomas Jefferson and James Madison on this issue, you will get a better understanding of the intent of the Second Amendment and the Bill of Rights.

As citizens, you and I and all Americans are allowed to petition the government for redress of unfair laws or those that would restrict our freedoms. When government does not act within the constraints of the Constitution (as you see happening now), the people have the right to armed resistance against the government and thus the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

Additionally, the government has NO RIGHT to restrict firearms from legal Americans and cannot force compliance with gun registration laws it would enact.

Please always remember that government exists only at the will of the governed. Other than that, it has no power.

Just reading your comment makes my blood boil! The fact is the 2nd amendment guarantees that the people shall have the freedom to appropriate any and all arms that would, if forced to defend the Constitution, obtain a weapon that is equal too or better than the standing enemy foreign or domestic to ensure that the PEOPLE maintain its freedom, and therefore to if necessary bring down the government, if that government has in any way shape or form abused, altered, or through executive order circumventing the Constitution and its amendments, and if that includes owning or purchasing an AR15, M16, Mini 14 or a Glock 17 and any other semi automatic fire arm that would give me an advantage protecting my home or the Constitution then so be it, It is the duty of all Patriots to stand and fight!
I don’t know where the hell you get your stats from but most likely from people who dont own a gun and still think that their government has their best interests at heart which is so far from the truth its laughable! As far as honest discussion how can that possibly happen when mass media is owned by the Uber Elite, and the government is so corrupt and is so arrogant that it has actually said that if you own a gun in America YOU’RE A TERRORIST!!!
So Frank as far as im concerned you speak of SEDITION and to that you should be tried as traitor and hung!

@ Frank Smith: The next step after registering firearms is the confiscation of same by the government. This has happened in country after country. Background checks are fine, but the government has no business knowing who has guns in their home to protect themselves. The loonies out there will acquire firearms regardless of regulation, and the rest of us need to able to protect ourselves against them. In the interest of public safety, you say? We remain safe only when we can defend ourselves. And messing with our constitution is an outrage. By the way, your comment about Cpl Boston was an undeserved insult.

The Second Amendment protects us from criminals as well as a government that could go bad and tyrannize the people it is supposed to represent (not to leave out the possibility of an invading country as was the case during the Revolutionary War). Leave the Right to Bear Arms alone. Enforce the laws that are in place and relentlessly prosecute individuals that misuse guns. Gun ownership is a right not a privilege. Clinton, Feinstein, Obama, Brady, et. al., want to eventually take all guns away and leave us at the mercy of criminals under the guise that police can protect you. The police usually arrive after crimes have been committed, not during the crime. What good is that? I agree with Joshua Boston completely.

The words of Joshua Boston were spoken in the spirit of our founders; plain, simple and in the interest of fellow men. Liberties defined in the Bill of Rights are not privileges they are rights; rights afforded, defended and paid for by the blood of those like Mr. Boston.

This government of ours has continued to display a willingness to limit, misinterpret and cast aside the liberties of man. I have seen, in my opinion, an ever growing trend of securing minority rights and entitlements at the cost and detriment of the majority, all in the name of equality and security of society while binding the prosperity of countless future generations. I believe that we, as a society, can no longer afford to continue to give up what may be perceived as even the smallest liberty.

The brave defenders of our country have left behind incomprehensible personal treasures, fought multiple wars and protected the defenseless peoples of faltering countries all over the world today. These hapless soldiers have returned home to an obese bureaucracy which rests on the weary blood stained and crippled bodies of its noble guardians. These selfless warriors are then left to fend for themselves to try to chip out an existence in their own country, absent of the relief that was so freely afforded those they have protected.

Why do we need these guns you ask? It’s simple, because we have a government that is trying to take them away…..

Ms Feinstein, That is the problem with the politicians that have been in office too long. You think you know better than I do what is best for me. The constitution says in the second amendment that we the people have the right to have and bear arms. Do you not believe in the constitution or is that amendment too hard for you to understand? What do Joseph Stalin, Adolf Hitler, and Mao Tse-Tung all have in common? They all restricted their citizens use of firearms. The second amendment was put in the bill of rights not only so that we can protect ourselves from criminals, but also protect ourselves from a tyranical government. While I believe that more extensive background checks would indeed be beneficial, I am totally opposed to the idea of registration.

Say that we pass this legislation (which I surely hope we do not). This proposed law would stop the manufacture and sale of firearms capable of holding more than ten rounds. You may be thinking: “But what if I bought/currently own a gun effected by this legislation?” This: the gun will most likely be grandfather and get a special permit. But, as criminals do not abide by the laws as the other 99%, this will not stop gun violence due to criminal activity (just look at the fact that nearly all gangs possess fully automatic firearms, illegal). And as soon as another Columbine, or Aurora, or Sandy Hook happens (which eventually will no matter what the legislation), the government will decide, “Well that didn’t work, lets bump up the regulations!” Then, they will confiscate every firearm that you so helpfully registered. I want to make one point clear: Registration always leads to Confiscation. Always.

So while people are lethargic now, what will they do if the government comes after our pistols, then rifles, then shotguns?

Plus, as this legislation completely goes against the Constitution, to legally pass this law, the government would have to remove the second amendment, in which case “Why even bother with assault weapons? Let’s just take it all!”

In conclusion I think actions taken by Cpl. Boston were commemerable and I support him 110%.

The arrogant Feinstein and her cohorts (Schumer, Clinton, Cuomo, Kerry, Obama, etc.) simply want to make it safe in our country for tyrants like themselves. I am with Corporal Boston all the way and applaud his courage to stand up to this witch of the U.S Senate. She and her kind deserve no respect whatsoever. They are foes of freedom.

@Frank Smith. A lethal weapon means Any firearm, device, instrument, material, or any other substance that is capable of producing great bodily harm or death from the manner it can be used. So what is next we will have to register and have background checks for our screw drivers, bows, hammers, and steak knives what about diesel fuel and fertilizer. Did you know in 2011 more people were killed by hammers than “assult style” rifles. The 2nd ammendment says “shall not be infringed” why do so many people have such a hard time understanding this. It is to protect ourselves from being inslaved from those that would and are trying to do so “foreign and domestic.” We don’t need the government in every aspect of our lives. We need our rights and freedoms back. I have the right to protect myself, my family, and even those that don’t believe in guns. But they don’t have the right to decide whether i can or can’t have a gun. I will not register and I will not hand over my guns ever. It is a right and no other human can decide what is my right.

Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

Let’s get a few things straight here…. the Constitution does NOT “give us our rights..”. It enumerates them. Our rights are given by god/creator…. they are self evident and natural. You could not deprive a lion of its claws at the expense of its life (either from starving or being unable to defend itself). This is what it means that they are self evident. It’s logic and should be common sense.
Second… I don’t give a flying flip if “most people support gun registration”. We are NOT a democracy. We are a republic. Not a mob ruled by the whims of the majority but a nation of laws.
If 99.9999% of people supported gun bans, the natural rights given by god/nature/creator guarantee me the right to self defense and no human or group of humans can deny me that.
If you do not like the natural laws that have made our country what it is and allowed its prosperity.. then leave; you have no claim to the our country if you don’t even understand its laws and principles. You have absolutely no authority above god or nature and therefore have no authority to take my guns. The only way you will get them is by force…. because the only way you’ll get them is from my cold dead hands.
