The disturbing story of the Soviet massacre of thousands of Polish officers and intelligentsia at Katyn, Russia in 1940 and the subsequent cover-up and German investigation of the crime scene.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Russia killed the Polish officers but Germany was blamed. FDR knew the truth but agreed to the lie.
The analogy in Bucha today:
Ukraine = Russia
Biden = FDR
Perception is reality unless we seek the truth.
This occurred to me as well when the Bucha story was splashed across the MSM. The weak minded believe without the hard evidence.
As humans, we are subject to emotions swaying our perspectives. This statement is not political, but what it describes does impact politics immensely.
Critical thinking is accomplished when we study the reports, analyze “allegations”, judge credibility, and thus determine ALL available facts BEFORE we make a decision.
Judging what is THE TRUTH is very difficult when our emotions affect how we perceive the alleged facts. Determining credibility is nearly impossible in an emotional atmosphere as important nuances can be by passed or trivialized.
As this article points out,”taking it slow” is the way to preserve objectivity in distilling facts from the morass of raw data presented.
And, as is usually the case, deciding not to decide, may be the best decision in the long term because it allows one to not be pulled into the propaganda of the moment. And further, it provides a chance to really think and focus on motivations behind the reporters of the alleged facts and those of the alleged culprits.
