Labor Union Announces Support of Occupy Wall Street

In a previous article outlining the expansion of Occupy Wall Street to 52 cities across the country, I wrote:

I suspect the labor unions will join these protests within a few days which will lead to violent confrontations. 

The New York Transit Workers Union voted to join with the “protesters” representing 99% of the people on Friday (September 30, 2011) at 4:00 PM. This will be the third weekend for this protest and the rhetoric is ramping up. Whether the violence will start now or later, lack of media coverage will not stop what is now being called a movement.

A Massive Union Just Voted To Side With The Wall Street Protesters

According to Daily Kos, The New York Transit Workers Union (TWU) voted to support the Wall Street Protestors at their meeting last night. A member of TWU Local 100 told a reporter that they would join the protest Friday at 4PM.
Here’s more about them from their website:

The TWU has four main divisions: Railroad; Gaming; Airline; Transit; and Utility, University and Service. The Union has 114 autonomous locals representing over 200,000 members and retirees in 22 states around the country.
